If ya want I can send you a file of the flyer. a copy of it is posted in our regional section. One of the entry form too.
scaleguy 07-23-2006, 09:09 AM Okay I have promised a sponsors update, so here goes; Meguair's (Goodie bag stuff), Summit Racing (Goodie bag stuff), Royal Purple Lubricants (goodie bag stuff), Stoner (goodie bag stuff and door prizes), Yogi's (goodie bag stuff and pre-entry prizes), Russ Francis Wiring (goodie bag stuff), Comp Cams (goodie bag stuff), K&N Filters (goodie bag stuff and door prizes), Local sponsors; Plaza tire (door prizes), Keystone Automotive, (goodie bag stuff), and O'Rielly's Autoparts, (door prizes).:thumb: This list will likely continue to grow as my wife and I are still working the net and the locals, she has about a half dozen call backs on Monday and Tuesday. I am going to finish the Hot Wheel track soon, so make sure that you bring the kids' fastest hot wheels, okay the adults can match race each other after the kids finish:lol: ...I have the younger women of my family working kids games, but if anyone has suggestions please let me know we went the younger ones to have as much fun as we will...I will also invite any of the ladies who would like to work with the little ones, to join the crew...Interest has picked up, but it would be nice to hear more from the guys in the western part of our region, our HHRs get great gas mileage and this will be a great way to meet and strengthen friendships in preparation for next year's national event...Thank you to the forum for letting us post updates and invitations to this run, we wouldn't be doing this without this forum and the fellowship that we have developed here.:one: Hopefully we will even help get the forum even more attention through this run and the other cruise events that we have been attending this season...Thanks to all of the regional members who have come aboard to help with ideas, flyer distribution, pre-entries, etc. We only have about three weeks so let's get the push on, we have fifty goodie bags to find homes for !!!:thumb:
scaleguy 07-23-2006, 09:20 AM Beauty, I saw the mini cruck and I am stealing the idea to remove the white letters on the tires...good idea! I think that it looks great. I posted about a smaller version of the HHR Road Ripper that I saw a couple of months ago, well I was in the same store and it was still there so I bought it. I didn't buy it initially because the doggoned thing is just so ugly!!! It is silver, much smaller scale and is set up like a 4x4 with a huge lift kit, but hey it's an HHR so I bought it (only $5.99) I have to prep and paint it and see if there is anything that I can do to make it look better, but I will post pics when I finish. I liked the pics with your 1:1 cruck in the background, pretty creative!, hey check out the sponsor update that I posted in the Mid-Central Regional forum area...in fact everybody should check it out (I know another shameless plug for the show...it's what I do !)
scaleguy 07-23-2006, 03:37 PM I just got an e-mail from Dennis at Ruckus Rods, agreeing to provide sponsorship to the run, he said that he would provide product and if you are not familiar with Ruckus they make really cool metal signs and such. I have seen their stuff and it is top draw quality and very cool...so there you go another reason to make the run to the Peoria area on August 12th...
Black Beauty 07-23-2006, 05:18 PM Scale, I`m going to start rounding up the CONVOY tomorrow.Should be 5-6 guys/cars in the group. Anybody in the Chicago area can contact me at
(admil06@yahoo.com ). I`m going to include a route map, pick a jump-in point.
OK, Map too large for site. Anyone who wants a map, go to mapquest, enter,START: George H.Corliss High School
821 e. 103rd St., Chicago, IL 60628
END: Sunnyland Church-Nazarene
201 n. Summit Dr. Washington, IL 61571
Then pick a Jump-in point.
Planning on leaving Chicago around 8-ish. Try to determine what time we`d be at your jump-in point.
Black Beauty 07-23-2006, 05:52 PM It`s amazing that with 300+ views on this thread, that the Scaleguy ( who`s doing a FANTABULOUS job ) is`nt telling people to " stop coming, we`re out of space.".. I`m sure that since the first announcement of this RUN , that you could`ve juggled things around so you could attend. This is going to be a Premier Event to cap off the 1st year of The HHR, It will never be repeatable. The Scaleguy has put in a GREAT effort, and WE should be there enmass. :thumb:

This event is going to ROCK!!:one:
But we need to figure out how to get more of our region involved. Any suggestions?
Black Beauty 07-23-2006, 06:55 PM I don`t KNOW !!! When you look at the Goodie bag stuff , An opportunity to meet some of the ( craziest ) guys in the club, What else is there? We could have a Car give-a-way, NAHHH.
GDZHHR 07-23-2006, 06:58 PM I GOT IT!!!
Pictures of hot babes next to HHR's!!
deerman 07-23-2006, 07:04 PM Would be nice to have the "HOOTER GIRLS" there to sign photos and etc.
oldschoolfreak 07-23-2006, 09:07 PM I agree hats off to SCALEGUY!! (Pat) you rock man the rest of us owe you big time brother!!! p.s. scale i have about 30 metal signs in my garage would love a custom one or three from these Rukus guys!! keep me informed about an engine for your boys car i still have 1 or 2 lyin around that could use a good home and cant think of a better one than your new one!! later all!
scaleguy 07-24-2006, 08:30 AM This has been a blast and I have really enjoyed it, but the best part has been the response of the guys who are here all of the time, it is great to see people excited about the run. I also think it is so cool that so many people who have never done car shows before are stepping up for this we are going to have a blast !!! Again you guys out west, come on jump in the HHRs and drive 'em over, you will not go home disappointed...Hey is anybody staying overnight, maybe we hook up for breakfast or a lunch time cookout Sunday...let me know if anyone is interested...Does anyone need any more information right now, directions etc. I will be providing a cell phone number for emergency contact, directions etc, as the run date gets closer. I have printed about thirty small coloring books for the kids, the games are being planned and I even have my son's girlfriend and her friends helping so the kids will be entertained, oh and I will be finishing the hot wheel track soon. Thank you all for the kind words, but I have some self-serving motives...I need a new group of friends, great people who love their vehicles and are willing to have fun with them...I think that I have found them!!!
oldschoolfreak 07-24-2006, 09:36 AM hey Scale the wife and i will probably stay over night cause im gonna have to take her on the boat sometime!! LOL so i need to know of some nice hotels near by! Then maybe we could do the breakfast thingy!! thanx again bud!!
scaleguy 07-24-2006, 09:48 AM Oldschool this should help, and might be good for anyone else looking to stay overnight in the area...www.roadsideamerica.com, go to the right hand side of the site, select hotel motel finder, select Illinois then select Peoria, East Peoria and Washington, that will give you a fairly good idea of what is avaliable. If you find a couple that interest you, let me know and I will get any specific info and let you know...Also the Par-a-dice casino has a hotel, if you need me to check that let me know.:thumb:
