Are there any gifted electrical guys (or gals) out there who have or is willing to add a 12V source to their HHR? I saw this on a SAAB site and I must admit, Chevy should have had this as standard. It would have come in handy during a recent vacation! :thumb: Anyone wants to take the challenge and share with the rest of us?

Now I am only taking a guess about and not sure how much work it would be, but for power could you not split it off the one in the back seat? May be a pain in a** to run the wire back to the cargo area. The just mount it right by where the area is to change your tail light bulbs. Like I said only a guess and an idea

With the battery being under the rear cargo area, I would think it could be done fairly easy.

I wouldn't just tap a 12 volt plug off of the battery.

I wouldn't either. I would use some type of fusable link.

I would be more interested in a 110 plug. That is one thing we liked about the Dodge Caliber. It has a built-in invertor.

I will be mounting my 110 back there. Just going to use a power inverter that clips onto the battery. The walmart type then I will run an extention up and mount a wall plate or something up in a useable area. possibly inside one of the storage compartments. that would be a fun weekend project

Already workin on the 12V plug in the Cargo area and ading 1 more to the rear of the "console" and on more up front. I am putting inline fuses on them all. The rear one goes off the battery. I too am adding a 120V inverter. Putting it down under the pass seat area and running a outlet under the glovebox so i can plug in my laptop while i am on the road. Probally gonna run one to the cargo area too. I will put up pics when i get done

I run my laptop, radar detector (which I plan to hardwire eventually) a laser printer and charges for my cell phone and bluetooth wireless earpiece. I just bought one of those four way plugs at the auto store and mounted it with velcro on the side of the center console in front of the passenger seat. It really isn't that noticeable and it does the trick for me....
