there are 2 ways to install them with the clamps, this was the info i got from Big Jims in Whitney, TX when i bought them.

1. this was the harder way and i did not do it this way. if you want them to hang down and out where u can really see them looking down from an angle then you need to put the clamps in the inner space and try to figure a way to bolt them down. you would have to bend the clamps up to make this work

2. you can lay the clamp flat against the underside of the car and install them this way w one bolt to the inside and the other on the body under. this is how i did it

here are pics and how i did my pipe install myself

The car was dirty, sorry, drove in some sprinkler water this morning going to teach.

The pics are labeled and there is an angled wall on the inside where I drilled a small hole and then ran the 3 or 3.5 inch stovehead bolt up all the way into 2 walls (outer and inner further up the inside) on the outside bolt. The inside bolt just needs a 1.25 to 1.5 in long bolt to go into the body. I just used a drill and drilled the bolts on through, no pretapping for under the body.

The placement pic on the front clamp is obvious to the lil rectangular hole on the side and the back one was done around 1 inch from the lil sidewall that goes across that channel under the car on the side.

both sides were the same and the placement worked on both sides. hope this helps

Once you have the washers and bolts and drill small tap holes on the angled wall the install is very very fast. You can loosen the bolts and roll the pipes a little, not a lot.
the outside bolts really hold the clamp down, the one under the body just holds the clamp down.

We recommend welding them on so you don't have to drill holes in the bottom of the car (potential water leakage & rust), and it also deters theft more when they are tacked on. I actually hit a parking curb with mine and let me tell you, welded on in the manner below - they are REALLY on there!

For those interested in the weld-on method there is a "How-To" HERE (http://www.socalhhr.citymax.com/page/page/3754301.htm):
