I once posted a thread about the remote start not working and was told that you only have a couple of times starting it without putting the key in and it will no longer start. Good info so that problem was fixed.
Now, about half the time, when we use remote start it sets the alarm off. This is not after multiple tries. There is no repeated circumstance that we can see. We just hit the lock button and then hold down the start button... The car does start but the alarm starts right along with it.
Is there a simple explanation for this or do we have a problem?
Thanks.

Did you try both key fobs?

I had a similar problem awhile ago. Tried both fobs. Second worked fine. Changed battery in first (daily use). Haven't had a problem since. (dealer gave me new battery N/C)

Ahhh.. I don't know. We'll have to try that. I didn't think of the fob battery since it is only a few weeks old and we bought it straight off the truck. But then I guess the batteries could have been on the shelf for a long time. I'll check it out. Thanks.

We've been having a few problems with our HHR too, but at least the dealer gets to fix those... That's more than I can say for the Fiero. :) I've just got back into my Fieros... Working on too many other things.
Best of luck with your issue.

What Is Pff?
I would venture to guess it's Pontiac Fiero Forum. :thumb:

Pennock's Fiero Forum... 13,000 members and over 7 years online. It is without doubt the most useable forum I have ever been on... They tend to get too many political arguments in the O/T section for me.. but it is a great forum and if there is ANYTHING you need to know about a Fiero, it is there.. Cliff Pennock is the owner and he lives in the Netherlands... Kinda funny really that an obscure American car has a huge forum hosted in a small northern European country...
http://www.fiero.nl - I know there are a few Fiero fans here...

Very cool! I know we have at least one more PFF'er here who now has an HHR. And I have found in the last few days a few more over there who now have HHRs that may not be here yet. There was recently a thread with a comparison of the Dodge Caliber and the HHR. Of course I threw in a couple of pennies... IN the end I think the HHR won out on PFF.

You beat me to the punch Yeshua, I was just checking Chev`s location.
Two things, (1) if you hold any buttons down for a period of time , the panic alarm kicks in. The auto start feature actually has a short delay, between the time you push the button the second time, and the actual start sequence. Try pushing the buttons normally, twice, see what happens.
(2) If that PFF club has 13,000 members, just think how many members we can expect over time. Theres gonna be a lot more HHR`s made then there were Fieros. I still say we need something to indicate Year-One membership Before it`s too late ... I wouldn`t doubt that there`s a "2007" owner reading this RIGHT NOW...

Black Beauty, I think you may have nailed it. I think we were just holding the start button down too long. If we release it as soon as the engine starts to turn over there is no alarm. Thanks.
