Billet Step Plates for the factory HHR Running Boards

These just came in, fresh off the CNC. Billet Step Plates for the factory HHR Running Boards. They came out absolutely amazing! Now, you might think pictures came out pretty good, but you really have to see these up close to see how awesome they look.

We had them made in two different designs -- one with lines and HHR logo, and the other with flames. They are machined from solid billet aluminum. All edges and recessed areas are polished to a mirror shine. The top surface has a brushed satin finish. These fit the factory running boards and mount through from below using supplied hardware. We have a few sets of each style in stock NOW! Get your order in before these are sold out!

More billet accessories for the HHR are in the works. I'll keep you posted. And if you are local to us (we're in Anaheim, CA), and interested in getting these or looking for other billet items, contact me.

Maybe it just the angle of the picture but I think that the flames are going to the wrong direction...?

on the sides, the angle on front and back is the same so i think it is just the angle he used to take the pictures.
i cant imagine someone that wants 249 for these messing them up. that just doesnt make sense

The step plates are symmetric. The flamed ones are mirror images also so you can install them the proper way (flames running front to back on both sides).

This is a new one for me...
What does YHGTBC stand for?

I think the Step Plates look great!
Might they be available plain, no engraved graphics?

Probably something like
You Have Got To Be Crazy

I like the look of these...they certainly would add a nice touch to the HHR for sure. Will put this on my list of things I might consider doing to the HHR. :thumb:

Their nice, but for me, I would prefer just plain smooth and polished. :2cents:

I like 'em. :thumb:

I can see them on my car.
I think I prefer the HHR ones, though if I'm in the right mood the flames could do nicely.
Keep up the good work.

Hey, are you looking into chrome "egg rings" for around the taillights? Someone should make them. I see real metal and stick-on plastic chrome ones for the PTs. Some of us use 1/8 or 1/4 " plastic stick-on chrome and have a lot of shrinkage and expansion at the seams. A seamless solution is in order.
Just an idea for those who have the ability to make stuff like this.

Perhaps we should start a poll. Yup, time for a poll thread:nuts:

I imagine these boards wuold be good looking in person...but a real pain in the arse to keep clean. All those grooves would have to collect dust and grime. And in the winters, wouldnt they be slippery? I have kids and they would step on them...and unfortunately..I have to look out for the youths! hahaha.

A couple have asked about plain ones. We can do them plain with no engraving. I would suggest a satin finish top even with the plain top. We can do polished finish on the top, but it would get scratched easily. One deep scratch on a polished finish and you will be wishing for the brushed finish. The brushed finish is actually quite durable and does not show scraches, and not that hard to keep clean.

Billet would be quite expensive due to the amount of material and machine time required, not to mention the polishing and chrome X4 for a set. A cast aluminum or molded plastic part would allow a more reasonable retail price, but the set up costs on something like that make it really hard to offer unless there is a commitment for several hundred parts. How much interest is there? A poll might be a good idea.
