I tried this before but no HHR's showed up.

We're having a g2g on Sept. 16th (tentative) at my home / shop in Mims right off of I-95 just north of Titusville. It's an open g2g so you don't have to have any specific kind of car to attend. We'll have the shop available for anyone wanting to do mods / work on their car. If your interested in attending please post and let me know. We usually have about 20 to 30 cars and do a lot of shop work. We also fire up the grill and eat some pretty good stuff. We have a pool for those who want to cool down from the hot day's work. After all the shop work is done, those of us old enough to have a beer or two sit around (or play in the pool) do so and usually just BS fixing all the woe's of the world. -Dan

We're about 40 minutes from Disney, we actually spend a lot of time there...LOL

From Disney you would take either I-4 or 417 to 528 (the beachline, east) than to I-95 north. We're just a couple minutes off of I-95 and the SR-46 intersection. If your able to stop in let me know and I'll post some better directions. - Dan

We are having this g2g next month and another planned for November. We're not sure yet but either this one in Sept or the one in Nov will most likely be the last one I host here in Florida. It all depends on when we decide to relocate and how fast things happen. We're about 90% sure that we will move out of Florida, but we're not sure of when this will take place. I would be honored if this last g2g would have some HHR's in attendance. Dan

Found the same thing here Dan,,, really disappointing

last time i had door prizes planned, mods that could have been done, even if enough people did the poker run,, i would have had 30" trophies.

ive tried a couple of times just to meet on Sat or Sun morning for breakfast or even lunch. i gave up on a club, i get names, send emails, no one comes

everybody seems busy

Bikers, pick a place and time,,, they are there

next saturday,, i am doing laps for charity and i will get to drive the Texas Motor Speedway

Yeah it's a shame that we can't get any HHR folks to come to these g2g's. I started doing this when I had my Focus and we get anywhere from about a dozen cars up to so far the max of 52. Many of the Focus people that started this with me no longer have a Focus and now it's just become a g2g for people with any kind of ride. We're just a bunch of people who like cars. We make the shop available to anyone needing work or mods done to their car and we have a huge cookout. What's even worse is that one of my Focus friends now also has an HHR like I do, but even he doesn't come out to the g2g's anymore. Oh well, I tried.

Everyone in Florida can find I-95. We're in Central Florida close to Titusville (Kennedy Space Center). If your south head north, if your north head south. Once on I-95 Just watch for exit 223 on to SR-46, it's the Sanford / Mims exit. If your coming from the south make a right turn onto SR-46, if your coming from the north make a left onto SR-46 under I-95. From there you head east on SR-46 for about 2 blocks and you will come to an intersection with a flashing light. Turn right at the flashing light on to Holder Road. In another couple blocks you will see a Catholic church on the left, immediately past the church you will see a small blueish two story house on a hill, just past this house you will see a large black mail box next to a driveway that looks like it goes to nowhere. Turn left onto this driveway, once over the hill you will see our gate, house and shop.

If your coming from the West (Tampa area) take whatever highway you need to get to 417 and head toward Orlando, just past Orlando watch for the Beach Line exit (528 / B-Line) and take it heading east. In about 17 miles or so you will see an exit off the left lane onto 407 (Kennedy Space Cener) which will connect you to I-95. Take the exit onto I-95 heading north. From there just follow the directions above. -Dan

To bad! I will be traveling that weekend as well. I would love to do things like that BUT I too get the same thing, no one wants to meet over here. I used to beep at other HHR's, but now I just keep driving . My kid and I loved beeping and waving to other HHR owners but when youget nothing back but a look like WTF, so why keep doing it. I also thought that maybe I started to soon, only a few people had them then, maybe now it will be different. We have an old butger joint over here and every night they have different cars/bike, and I thought it would be groovy to meet other HHR people there but NOTHING! Well have an great time, maybe next time we could all could meet somewhere more Central.....Good Luck putting it all together!

We didn't set a time for this g2g to officially begin so let's say somewhere around 11 to noonish.

This will give those coming plenty of time to get here. You can come out as early as you like. (several people will get here early)

As always, if you have work to be done to your car you can head over as early as you like to get in and out of the shop.

Eat breakfast before coming over because we probably won't fire up the grill until possibly 1 - 2:00 - Dan

Yeah sometimes these things can be hard to put together, not as hard as something like the Biltmore Bash, but still tough.

We don't do door prizes, plaques, or that sort of thing. We just try to have car crazy people come together to meet one another and put faces to names. We also have the shop where we all pitch in and help each other do work on their rides. Then we eat, share war stories, mingle, then fade out 1 by 1. Those who are more into partying hang around and when all the family types have gone back to their sane home life we, those who remain party. We usually drink a few beers, swim in the pool, and hang out in the shop and talk.....sometimes for hours.

So, if your travels take you anywhere near here. Please feel free to stop in and say HI. -Dan

Bump - Just a reminder, the g2g is this coming Saturday. Check the food and beverage list, if there isn't something there you think should be, feel free to bring it. We usually go through a ton of soda and water so that's always something to consider. I have several coolers but will most likely need some ice. We have several lawn chairs, but bringing your own wouldn't hurt. -Dan

There is a Win-Dixi and a Publix close by just in case you need to get something once you arrive. Be prepaired to meet and talk with several other car minded folks....and enjoy - Dan

This isn't a shop it's our home. But I do have a 3 car garage / shop fully equipped including a 4 post lift. We've been hosting these g2g's now for several years. Between myself and the many talented attendees we can usually complete most work and modifications. We've gone as far as completing five suspension swaps as well as a set of cams, and a miriad of other simpler modifications in a single day. And this was before I got the lift.

We just enjoy doing this kind of sfuff - Dan :thumb:

Well the famous "Eric's Gourmet Hot Sauce" has been made.
The meat has had 90% of fat taken off.
Now back in the freezer, then sliced, marinade, then off to the dehyderator. And for the end to Dan-D's house we go.
Ps. The Beef Jerky is marinaded in the hot sauce. He made a new batch of sauce for me/us.

That jerky should go great with this group here. :thumb:

These rules aren’t intended to limit your enjoyment at the g2g, but instead they’re so everyone can enjoy, including the folks who live in the homes around us as well as those folks attending the church next door. All we ask of you is to be courteous and respectful of others and help keep the sheriff’s department from bringing this gathering to a halt. Remember, this is a residence.

1) Once off I-95 and onto SR-46 keep your speed down.

2) No hot rodding what so ever on Holder Road. If you do a mod to your car or just want to take someone for a ride please take it to the freeway.

3) Turn your music down so you can hear it and not everyone else, I know a lot of people love to hear their music LOUD. But there will be a very mixed group of people here and not everyone likes the same music.

4) Some folks enjoy a beer or two while hanging out, if your old enough it’s your call. But if you’re under age…..don’t even think about it.

Just a note: For those of you attending for the first time, watch out entering our driveway. It’s a pretty steep hill and if your car is lowered there’s a possibility of scraping. Just enter the driveway at a sharp angle and you should be just fine. We’ve had many VERY low cars come onto our driveway without a problem.

Parking: Once you come onto the property you can park on the left side of the driveway and up close to the shop. If we have a large number of cars we can extend the parking onto the front lawn. If your going to park on the front lawn, please get onto the lawn from the right side of the concrete slab in front of the shop, don’t cross over the landscape timber lining the driveway, this could damage your car.

We've has many GREAT g2g's here and we need to make this one just as enjoyable as the others

Thanks,
Dan

Just thought I'd post this for those coming from the Tampa area. If you would like to tag along with this group they know how to get here. If you want to meet up with them they are leaving from the Cracker Barrel at the I-4 and Mango exit. They plan to roll out at 9:00 AM. Your more than welcome to join them for the trek out here. Jist look for a small group of Ford Focuses. Focus825 is Vince and the green Focus belongs to Ted. The other two folks are new to me. Dan

so far the list for us to meet at Cracker Barrel which is at the mango exit and I4 is:

Focus825
Purolatino
Gone Postal
VizualxtacyZX3

If any one else wants we are leaving the crackerbarrel at 9am sharp

Ps contact # for me (Vince) is 727-946-0151 if you have any questions

For directions it's a peice of cake. Everyone in Florida can find I-95. We're in Central Florida close to Titusville (Kennedy Space Center). If your south head north, if your north head south. Once on I-95 Just watch for exit 223 on to SR-46, it's the Sanford / Mims exit. Turn left onto this driveway, once over the hill you will see our gate, house and shop.

If your coming from the Tampa area jump on I-4 toward Orlando. From there you need to get onto 417 (still heading toward Orlando). Stay on 417 until you see the Beach Line exit (also called 528 and the B-Line), take the Beach line exit heading east. About 15 miles or so after the toll booth you will see an exit from the left lane (very odd) onto 407, take this exit. In a couple miles you will come to an exit that will put you on I-95 north. Jump on I-95 here and folow the directions above for those coming from I-95 south. -Dan

The thanks really belongs to all of you who came out, without you this g2g couldn't have happened. To date this was one of the best g2g's we've had, we really had a great mix of cars and people and a ton of work was accomplished. The hot sauce and jerkey was a big hit. That HUGE bag of jerky was completely consumed before the last person left about 11:00 or so last night (two stayed over). bigred came here on a stock ride height but left lowered on a set of Goldlines. Karen got her anti roll bar installed, and Theresa got her lesson in oil change 101. Oneton (Reed) came to the g2g clean and left dirty (thanks for all your help with the mods). I'm sure I missed something here so if I did, here's a BIG THANKS to all of you for making this happen. :thumb: :one:

Jay, when you do get a set of springs let me know and we'll install them here.

Dan,

You are going to be busy between Jay and I getting both of ours done!! I am going to bring my son to help when I get mine done. He is 26 and just put bags on his 82 chevy truck and loves to work on things like this.

Hey, if you guys are doing more suspension stuff, I'll come along and help out, assuming I have the time. I hadn't worked on much in a while, it felt kinda nice to get in there and work on bigred's HHR.

And dad, I think Nicky wants an HHR now that I took her for a ride in yours.

Redwagon. Go to the Lounge forum area on this site and post under the "Introduction" thread. Might be easier to find some get-togeathers in your area.
