I know I've seen it here before, but dang if I can find it. Sometimes my key won't remove from the ignition. I have to do a lot of putting in gear, etc. It is an automatic. What was the solution to that? Can anybody remember?

Thanks Deb. I knew you would find something. I read all those and even printed out the TSB for the Cobalt. I'm going to start noticing steering wheel position, etc. Thanks again, you are a rose in a field of thorns.

Does anyone remember in the days before the world wide web we had gopher? Deb that's what you remind me of, a gopher...ask anything about anything and I'll be damned if Deb does not come up with something. Maybe we should rename the WWW to Deb web!

Thanks you two. You're making me blush. :red: I enjoy helping others find things when I can...just ask my boyfriend Henry. We'll get into a discussion about one thing or another and he insists he's right or can't remember something, so off I go on a search. I would venture to guess that at least 95% of the time I can find what I'm looking for. It make take a while, but I'm very persistent. Some say my persistency makes me a PITA.

i remember reading in the owners manual i think that when the battery is a little low or something like that it wont let the key go so there is a manual release button under the column... ahh found it, in the 06 own man its on page 2-23 and 2-24 if you have a low battery or low voltage it will not let go your key so you will have to use the manual release... as we all know most car batteries will 'recharge' somewhat when left to sit for a few hours which might explain the key suddenly coming out like nothing happened...
might be something to check...

Thanks for the advice, I will check it out. It seems it gets stick when steering when is turned but can turn streering wheel still.

Here is another thread with the info. I believe the TSB # may be posted in the thread. I've seen it somewhere.

Search is a cool tool, but we are having so many posts it is hard to narrow things down.

Go get it fixed, so far after the fix, no one has had a reoccurance incident.
