GM's implementation, "Personal Audio Link," will debut in the Chevrolet HHR later this year, and should be available in all of GM's 56 models by the end of next year. GM will offer Personal Audio Link as a $160 (plus installation) option.
Wonder if it will interface with exisitng HHR head units.

JimZ_HHR 10-06-2006, 12:04 AM Any more word on this?
1BadPig 10-06-2006, 08:05 AM Someone from another forum said that he asked his dealer and it was quoted as a $325 unit... from that post "The parts guy said the part number is HLN21600, but it's not showing up in his system when searching by that part number. He had to find it by description."
JimZ_HHR 10-30-2006, 08:33 PM anymore word on this?
Applenut 11-05-2006, 08:42 PM I've been bugging my parts dept. for 2 weeks now. Stopped in yesterday with a printout of the news article and a print of the hhr accessories page showing it, I hope they understand I want one!!!!
Ronzo 11-08-2006, 04:53 PM I just left a voicemail for my dealer's Acessories guy about this.
We'll see what he says.
Ronzo 11-08-2006, 05:16 PM He called me back. He said he hadn't heard anything new so he'd check into it for me and let me know.
bdubsee 11-14-2006, 03:52 PM I spoke to a friend who works with the release engineers and they say it will still be a couple of weeks as they are having supplier constraints related to the licensing of the Apple connector interface. On a positive note, the Personal Audio Link (PAL as they are calling it), is now on the accessories page of the Chevrolet website for the HHR.
FIRETRUCKHHR06 11-29-2006, 06:16 PM I WORK IN THE PARTS DEPT OF A CHEVY DEALER AND I FOUND THE INTERFACE FOR THE IPOD. THERE ARE TWO TYPES ONE FOR A NON-XM SYSTEM AND FOR AN XM SYSTEM. AS FAR AS PRICE I'M CHECKING THAT AS WE SPEAK AND WILL HAVE THAT TOMORROW.:thumb:
wheelsee 11-29-2006, 06:20 PM while your checking the price...can you also check your CAPS LOCK!
thanks,

FIRETRUCKHHR06 11-29-2006, 06:50 PM Sorry Didn't Know It Was An Issue
HOTAZHHR 11-29-2006, 08:13 PM it's not an "issue". just more of a courtesy thing. people say that typing in all CAPS equates to yelling.
I'm looking forward to hearing what the prices are. getting tired of pulling the cable and charger out every time I want to use the iPod in the HHR.
cpendlay 11-30-2006, 11:18 AM I would like to know if this works only with Ipods or if it will work with other MP3 players like the Creative Zen Touch. Now a cable works great to get the sound but navigating through my collection would be easier through the radio than having to do it on the Creative while driving...lol
FIRETRUCKHHR06 11-30-2006, 12:05 PM I have a prices and its running $331.50 before tax and install. WOW! I'm even a little surpised but you can nav all your songs and folders throught the radio. So i guess its not that bad. :thumb:
1BadPig 11-30-2006, 06:59 PM That's a bit salty! I guess I'll stick with the minijack cable.
Applenut 11-30-2006, 08:52 PM That's a looooong way off from the announced $160, not to say you're looking at the wrong part but.........are you looking at the right part???? It just seems a bit much, sorry.
O6ChevyHHR 12-01-2006, 09:08 AM more than $160 tho!
