I like the idea of a simple cruse type get together, and keep the big weekend bash for the 07 main event. We need to start the committee thing.

Summer 2nd annual big bash-5 people

Volunteers? This could be a moving around thing to different areas? Send me a PM if you want on a committee. I will keep a list and publish it here when I have a full roster per Tour. Then it will be up to that committee to put it together. This will evenly spread the responsibility around and keep it fair.

We have had a lot of ideas now we need some serious work done to make this all a reality for all to enjoy.

Again I think we need to have the spring, fall, and winter events more simple and the Annual thing the BIG ONE. This will also work as our quarterly meeting.

I thought the committee should then be aloud to put all this together in a more logical way that would be for the benefit of the group. Don't hassle them, let them do there job. Some people may not be able to make it and others would. Remember it can't always work for everybody. So let’s be adults and make this all come together.

I will keep the list of volunteer. It will be on a first come first serve basis. When I have enough volunteers for each committee I will post them by event committee. Then we can all share ideas with each committee. But let the committees do there job If you don't volunteer......Don't complain!

As of Now I have two Volunteers total!!! We need the support of everyone to make this a success.

This can not be all smoke and no fire.

This is how I will do it.

Once each of the 4 runs have a full comittee. I will post a new thread listing the members of the comittee. There will be a post for each run/comitte. This is where everyone can post ideas and offer sugestions. It will ultimatly be up to the comittee to come up with the actual event. There are openings in every comitte right now so join in on the planning. Sign up now

If you are wanting to sign up send me a PM. That way I can keep track of who wants to be on what comittee.

I can then respond to you so you know you are locked into that spot. If it has already been filled then I can see if you would like another spot to Volunteer.

This is easy guys. The Fall, Winter and Spring runs just need a place(Parking Lot) to gather and tell lies in. Then a simple 20 mile cruse. The Big Bash is going to be the tought one. We have 2 volunteers for it already.

I see that the interest has shifted to Branson again. I wish to be on a commitee for the Dells or House on the Rock.

After all I am in North Central and down south is a little far for me on a committee. I will be in the Dells and around House on the Rock in Oct scouting for something next year.

I will drive to the Dells for a weekend if not for a longer stay, I love the Dells.
I have not been there in a few years but I would even drive to the House on the Rocks. Please keep us informed. I think this would be Great for an Annual Run. The Dells has something for every one no matter what age.

No offense Tom but neither of those places are in this region. I think they're both great ideas, and I'm only speaking for myself, but I think Mid-Central runs and the annual event should be in the Mid-Central region.

If you plan something for your region, me and my wife would think about going.

If everyone else is up for it though, that's fine with me too. I just think if we're going to have four events a year we should try to spread them out in our region to try to include everyone in the region. We haven't even begun to talk about a way to get the western states more involved. I don't think we can go even farther east and west.

I dont think anyone has posted any runs that are excluded from this site??? or on a national level? there are the 3 small events fall,winter,spring, then the summer/annual/big bash it is all the same thing BB? where is all the confusion comming from?

I'm not trying to start anything but they're not one in the same. they have different states. The club has two the region doesn't, and the region has two the club doesn't. You have to be invited to join the club, the forum is open to all. The clubs posts are monitored; the forum you can post any lame thing, within reason, you want without each post being approved.

I was not given an answer when I asked a similar question, was the run club or forum. I was treated as if I was trying to make an issue of it and was told that it didn't matter and that there was no conflict. No answer though.

I know we want to have fun and attract the most HHRs that we can, but we should at least be able to be clear about who is doing what.

I'm all for having fun and getting together but this, IMO, is starting to look like a control issue. And I don't mean that in a good way.

We've had fun, until lately, just being a group of people who live in the middle of the US who have HHRs in common. Now its do you belong to this or that, who can vote on what, who is going to be running things, who is invited, who is getting along with who.........

Do we really need all of this? Think about it, we had the biggest, to the best of our knowledge, gathering of HHRs so far and it was only 15! I agree that with time, a club may be needed, not just wanted, to put together large events. But we're still talking about a regional club for a car that, I'm guessing has about 60-70,000 units sold at most.

I had been hoping we might be able to get 25-50 together for the main event. I still think that that is being hopeful. But this is being treated like its going to pull HHRs in vast numbers from all over the country! We're talking about doing this in less than one year! I may have done nothing like this before but this seems to me like wishful thinking. In time, yes, now, no. The way some have been talking people are beginning to think it is a national event not regional!

And with everything that has been going on, why would people plan their vacations to be with a group of people who have trouble getting along among themselves.

I just think that everyone is taking this whole club vs. forum issue way too seriously! Its a damn car for crying out loud! People will not always get along no matter how much we try to force that to happen. The problems that have been going on are bigger than any one person. So what! Its all over a car!

Can't this just be simple and frienldy and fun? There will be conflict anytime this many people are relating, so what?! Things always seem to work out the way they are supposed to no matter how we try to manipulate the situation.

I really don't care what I belong to; club, forum, both, neither. I just want to keep doing cool stuff to my HHR, get together once in a while to show it off and see what other people have done and have fun. It really can and should be that simple.

We got a saying in an organization that I belong to, "principles before personalities". I don't always live up to it, sometimes not very often, but I do try. Let's try and leave this personality crap and get on with the fun.

Bob and I are still planning to do the Spring Run on April 21-22 here in the Quad-Cities (where Interstate 80 crosses the Mississippi River, for those who do not know!). I don't think there will be a problem with just us working on it. I already have tentative plans, just waiting for 2007 schedules to come out with exacts.
