Ok boys and girls....who is going to go October 21-22 too Starved Rock/Matthesson State Park for the fall run?

The "Minister of Sinister" will be there to ring in Halloween...hahaha. I'm in!!!

We're in if I have the week-end off.

My husband and I look forward to joining everyone on the Fall Run and CAN'T wait to meet all! Since this will be our first time...do you give a place to meet or do you try to get a bunch to drive together to a meeting place? We're pretty excited!

Now some one please tell me how far is Starved Rock from the South Chicago area and how long is the drive. Sounds like a sleep over. Does any one have any Info on a place to stay for the night. If any one has any Info please advise.

There's a lodge there with cabins that look decent, camping too I think. That's where we're gonna stay. Nice cabin /fireplace $100.

You might want to call and make reservations now as they have a tendency to bookup quickly. I called this week to try to get a night this weekend to celebrate my wife's and my birthdays and they were booked solid. They also told me that weekends require a 2 night minimum. You can stay Fri and Sat or Sat and Sun, but you have to pay for 2 nights on a weekend. I also checked the Grand Bear Lodge and they start out around $169 per night.

just thought i would post the new news about the fall run in here, The manager of the J.C.Whitneys warehouse in Utica called me toady and said they would be happy to sponsor our fall run!! free Tshirts,hats etc.. then he would personaly give our entire group a tour of the warehouse!! said he might even do like a top 3 whitneys pick with maybe gift cards or somethin for the winners!! I told them we would be there between 1-2 pm after our pot luck lunch at starved rock!! then we could move on to the show in princeton!! just thought you would all like to know!! later Tony (oldschoolfreak)

Pat, (scaleguy) was the one that clued us in, i think it is a car show in princeton if some dont want to go there is no problem! there is a nice hotel right off of rt 80 near princeton if some would like to stay there also nera peru (inbetween utica and princeton) if some wanna stay there I will be checking on rates and such soon!!

2 we all cruise to starved rock and walk around take pics have a pot luck lunch etc..
3 we cruise to J.C. Whitneys about 5-6 miles from starved rock have a small shownshine, take the tour check out all the cool stuff they have for sale..

Okay Deerman has put together a flyer, Oldschool has wrangled sponsorship and a tour at JC Whitney's...I have found a couple of cool cruise routes where we do some fall colors and end up in Princeton for a cruise-in, there is also a covered bridge in Princeton for a photo op! We can hike Matheisson, and Starved Rock, head off to JC Whitney or cookout and chill at Starved Rock, then roll into Utica to check out the Main Street area then head off to Princeton. Of course Derman, Iowa and 'School get to figure out the order etc...Since Whitney is throwing sponsorship should we go ahead and open the HHRs for a small show? I am good for that...Oh and before I forget the cruise is at Culver's in Princeton..."school, Deerman and Iowa I reworked Deerman's flyer and I am sending it to you guys for approval then 'school I can snail-mail it to you...

well I will go to princeton monday and see about hotels and rates as well as oglesby to find an area big enough for all of us to meet just off rt 39 I think would be best! will post after!

hello all! i just joined this group. thought id let you all know that THERE IS NO SHOW/CRUISE ON THE 21ST!! IN PRINCETON! its on the 14th, the week end before. I KNOW..... im the guy doing the culvers cruises! lol
anyway we( our car club) IS DOING A TOY RUN ON THE 22ND!! AT THIS SAME CULVERS. ITS FROM 10-3 WITH A FREE PHOTO OF YOUR CAR INCLUDED! all you need is a 10.00 or more toy ,unwrapped for a needy child. we go on a 30 mile round trip tour and then back to the culvers. there is a super walmart right across the street from this culvers also! hope to see you all !!
