How come your selling it?
JESSE 08-20-2006, 06:27 PM Hey JOEK86, Why are you selling it?
JOEK86 08-20-2006, 06:40 PM I have one offer, I can't consider it sold until he pays me so I will Keep this active.
Jesse, I am selling it because I prefer to quietness of the stocker. I like the added performance and the milage of the CSG, but I am deadening my car for my sound system and the CSG takes me backward a notch.

JOEK86 08-20-2006, 06:58 PM SOLD
Harpozep 08-20-2006, 07:12 PM I may be doing the same thing. I like the intake, but when I added the Imco, the whole thing became too loud for us as a family car.
So the Imco is coming off this week unless it magically gets quieter, then I'll think about the Intake. Most likely both will be for sale as a set soon with teh new chrome tailpiece as well! Sigh, we tried didn't we:lol:
Hey Joe, what are you using for sound proofing? I'm thinking of doing ours. We own a Buick Rainier and is it quiet! Our HHR 2LT is loaded and makes us think of itself as a Mini Buick:lol: So making it quieter is a goal. THe sound system is getting a going over, so when the door panels are off, it may be a good time to add the metal sound dampening material.
I'm thinking of using B-Quiet and not Dynomat, as it says here:
http://www.b-quiet.com/dynamat.html
The sad part of putting our stock intakes in is the look- back to the Blah-not-see-the-engine-look:roll:
JESSE 08-20-2006, 07:14 PM Thanks for the info. I have been debating whether or not to install one due to me really enjoying my sound system. Hopefully when I attend the Biltmore Bash, someone will have it and I can determind whether its to loud for my taste.
JimZ_HHR 08-20-2006, 07:44 PM I'll buy it!
How come your selling it?
Trey, if you get one... i wanna hear it... since you are so close...I tend to like the quietness also...
JOEK86 08-20-2006, 07:46 PM I think that the stuff is dynamat but i am not sure. I am contemplating a complete sound deadening project that will take two weeks. It will entail removal of the seats, carpeting and just about everything in the car.

Yeah, that's the way I'd do it. Just gotta find the time. I hear there are sensors under the seats which will blow out an airbag if they are triggered, so look into those type of details. These modern cars have way too much going on in them.
Hey, when you get to it, take some pics and post them if you are able. I'm sure a number of us would like to see where you go with this.
trey1966 08-20-2006, 07:52 PM When I start the install of my audio system, I plan on putting sound deadening everywhere I can cram it. I have not used B-Quiet before, but I have done a 4 door Saturn L100 sedan with Dynamat, and it made a world of difference. Just putting it under the hood made a massive improvement. You would be best served by doing the whole car all at once. Tear off everything you can and put the material behind it.
One thing I do remember is if you dont prep the site first, (clean it off good), Dynamat will start to peel at some point and you will start hearing little noises all over the place.
trey1966 08-20-2006, 07:55 PM Trey, if you get one... i wanna hear it... since you are so close...I tend to like the quietness also...
I should get the intake sometime this week, I am going to paint it, and then install it at the end of the week hopefully. I will shoot you a PM when I am done.
Mind you, I do have a full cat-back exhaust with the IMCO 924 muffler and performance resonator installed. Just that alone makes some noise. I find at highway speeds it's not really noticeable, but when just driving around, you are well aware that it is modified.
JOEK86 08-20-2006, 08:07 PM I will probably use this stuff for the project. they make 2 products that are used together as you will see. Guy's on the car audio forums love the stuff and it is a little bit less expensive than Dynamat..........

I'll be there and you can check mine out if you want to. I have the CGS intake and IMCO turbo muffler, too. I like the sound as I wind 'er up with the 5 speed.
cj krause 08-20-2006, 10:25 PM I have the CGS and the T924 and when the video of the run i did is processed you can hear the radio at barely on and i did a 12.5 min run and it was on the whole time.
there is no competition between the sound system and my CGS and T924 at all.
after you have the T924 for about 6 to 8 weeks it gets quieter and quieter
you hear a lil bit when i stomp on it and that is about it. we did 2400 miles on vacation this summer and no problem
trey1966 08-29-2006, 03:22 PM I got the intake installed and good lord does it make a difference in sound if you get into it. If you don't get into it, the sound is not bad at all with a cat-back with the IMCO T924.
As for performance, no real idea just yet. Seems to move a bit quicker through the RPM range, but as for real on the road performance, eh...
Still really happy I got it though...Thanks Joe...
JimZ if you would like to hear it still, PM with some times you can meet up and I would be happy to give you a ride around.
JOEK86 08-29-2006, 03:28 PM Great, gladthat you like it!
