I have the sport red 2LT with grey interior. I can't decide what color pinstriping or rally striping would look best. Has anyone done their car yet?

With a red car I would say white would be the best choice IMO. I have a dark silver HHR and am putting on vinyl ghost flames when I can clear some time in my schedule. My previous car was mineral grey which was grey with a copper cast to it and I put on gold stripes.

White or blue sounds good to me

I used to do a lot of pinstriping. Try Gold, Silver, or White on a Red car. It depends on what you are trying to match (wheels, etc.)

I had a Ford Ranger flair side pickup and silver was my choice. Silver or gold would be my guess. Buy both and return the one that does not look as good. Tape it on with masking tape just to get the look.

I'm with socal. You can do it in quite a few colors, but it depends on what color your going to do everything else. There is a pt crusier that has about 9 different colors from base color (purple) wheels(white), body graphics(green) chrome trim and the inside has some yellow accenting. Next time I see it I'll take a picture. Its hideous.

I also have a red HHR and I am considering a black stripe. It will definitely be understated, but I don't want anything too flamboyant, either.

Black and red is a nice combo also. :thumb: I like it better the other way around better, black vehicle red stripes. :eek:

Dunno about red, but my Sunburst Orange looks great with metallic silver! :cool:

No offense, but some posts are looking for a "vote" on what do do with your car, when all that really matters is what appeals to you. Think about that!

I agree with you 100%. But at the same time it isn't bad to have someone elses opinon or advice from someone who has done it before on knows about what you are doing. It does seem kind of silly to ask someones opinion of colors. Go with what you think looks good! :beer:

Mine goes in Monday for a black stripe. I met with the painter yesterday -- a former martial arts student of mine so I trust his opinion -- and told him I was considering black or bright red. He looked over the vehicle -- the first one he has seen close up -- and felt the black stripe would work best with the black trim around the windows. I wanted a subtle look and the thin black line seems like a good choice. I am having HHR lettering incorporated into the stripe on the side rear quarters to customize the stripe a bit.
