The Special effects look amazing. Plus Peter Jackson from Lord of the rings is the director. I've seen the original one many times while growing up. I cant wait to see this new one.

View Full Version : King Kong SIHHR 12-09-2005, 08:21 PM The Special effects look amazing. Plus Peter Jackson from Lord of the rings is the director. I've seen the original one many times while growing up. I cant wait to see this new one. captain howdy 12-09-2005, 08:36 PM I love Peter Jacksons old films while he was still making them in New Zealand. Bad Taste, Dead Alive, and Meet The Feebles are three of my favorite movies of all time! SIHHR 12-09-2005, 08:49 PM I'd have to see those. I have heard of them. captain howdy 12-09-2005, 09:13 PM They come highly recomended by me! You wont be able to stop laughing with all three. Just make sure no kids are around while watching them. :D If you watch Dead Alive make sure to get the uncut version. SoCalHHR 12-09-2005, 09:17 PM I know it's going to sound real strange...but I really like the original version. It's one of my favorites. I've got to get it on DVD. captain howdy 12-09-2005, 09:19 PM Yeah, but I'm a gore hound so the more blood and guts the better! :D The lawnmower scene is classic. SIHHR 12-09-2005, 11:34 PM Seeing Jack Black play a regular role in this movie should be funny. It reminds me of when Jim Carrey did that war hero movie. The Majestic. captain howdy 12-10-2005, 07:42 AM He has done serious before. Like The Jackal or Dead Man Walking. I'm a huge Tenacious D fan so Jack Black is reason enough for me to go see King Kong. Too bad Kyle Gass doesn't get as many roles as Jack Black. The D is supposed to have a movie coming out next year. captain howdy 12-10-2005, 10:07 AM At least Kong won't be claymation anymore. :D Usualy when they do remakes they end up sucking but I have faith in Peter Jackson so I'll go see it. The remake I cant wait for is The Omen 666, due out June 6th 2006. DJNateGnau 12-10-2005, 10:34 AM The only place Jack Black has in that movie, IMHO, Is the Gorilla. captain howdy 12-10-2005, 10:43 AM lol JonyyB 12-10-2005, 10:57 AM I’m not a big fan of such movies. I mainly watch comedy, horrors. Movies that have extremely unrealistic characters ( giant monkeys, wizard, dragons, ect) are just not my thing. I am proud to say I never watched one minute of any Star Wars  captain howdy 12-10-2005, 11:02 AM So the force is not with you. :D DJNateGnau 12-10-2005, 11:11 AM I’m not a big fan of such movies. I mainly watch comedy, horrors. Movies that have extremely unrealistic characters ( giant monkeys, wizard, dragons, ect) are just not my thing. I am proud to say I never watched one minute of any Star Wars  HELL YEAH! Same here bro, Except the last part, I unfortunately wasted 2 hours of my life watching The Phantom Menace. :red: captain howdy 12-10-2005, 11:25 AM I agree but horror and comedy movies can have some extremely unrealistic characters also. There are lots of them that stand out in my mind. DJNateGnau 12-10-2005, 11:36 AM Yeah, Like Freddy Krueger, and Jason Voorhees. PS: I live off a sideroad called Voorhees Ln. captain howdy 12-10-2005, 11:40 AM I used to live on Elm St.. :thumb: My step-daughters fathers name is Jason Voorhees. I refused to believe my wife until I met him. Luckily for me he's nothing like the famous Jason Voorhees. :D DJNateGnau 12-10-2005, 12:02 PM LOL, good. SIHHR 12-10-2005, 07:05 PM So the force is not with you. :D So are you a fellow Star Wars fan? SIHHR 12-10-2005, 07:06 PM HELL YEAH! Same here bro, Except the last part, I unfortunately wasted 2 hours of my life watching The Phantom Menace. :red: It was not a waste. You witnessed History. I loved Epsiode 3. The Revenge of the Sith was the best prequal. SIHHR 12-10-2005, 07:06 PM Yeah, Like Freddy Krueger, and Jason Voorhees. PS: I live off a sideroad called Voorhees Ln. That explains why you want to come to NY to come after me and Captain. captain howdy 12-10-2005, 07:22 PM So are you a fellow Star Wars fan? I love the original trilogy! I still have yet to see episode III. I kind of got pissed at Lucas when he tampered with the films I loved as a child. He should have left the original trilogy alone. I'm kind of stuck because he made the end of the trilogy first so now I'm stuck having to see the begining. I have a few of the books and several of the games also. I'm more of a darksider though! :p: SIHHR 12-10-2005, 07:24 PM Then 3 is for you. The Rise of Vader. Great moment. DJNateGnau 12-10-2005, 08:28 PM That explains why you want to come to NY to come after me and Captain. BUAHAHAHAHHAHAHAAHAAHA DEATH I VOW TO THEE!   Where did that come from? :red: :D captain howdy 12-10-2005, 08:45 PM Left field. :D DJNateGnau 12-10-2005, 09:28 PM Hahaha, Nice shot in the dark. SIHHR 12-10-2005, 09:44 PM HAHA. I'm going to send King Kong after you now DJNateGnau SoCalHHR 12-10-2005, 10:32 PM Then 3 is for you. The Rise of Vader. Great moment. Man I just watched the whole thing last night (3). My wife was out of town. It is one of the greats - you have to see it! What trips me out is about the droids...(I'm not gonna say any more). DJNateGnau 12-10-2005, 10:36 PM HAHA. I'm going to send King Kong after you now DJNateGnau Tell Mr. Kong I said Bring it on. :D captain howdy 12-10-2005, 11:03 PM I bet you'll have a little something waiting for Kong. :D DJNateGnau 12-10-2005, 11:13 PM Oh HELL yes. :D SIHHR 12-10-2005, 11:15 PM King Kong rules and your public enemy status is not going to help you. DJNateGnau 12-10-2005, 11:17 PM Dude, Public enemy status has nothing to do with it. ;) :D captain howdy 12-10-2005, 11:20 PM Lol! DJNateGnau 12-10-2005, 11:30 PM Just don't give me my Coffee, And I'm grumpier than Osama surrounded by CHRISTIANS! SIHHR 12-11-2005, 04:35 PM I will make mental note about that. Thanks for the heads up. DJNateGnau 12-11-2005, 06:28 PM LOL, Ok. Oh, I told ya so. :D SIHHR 12-11-2005, 08:49 PM I cant wait to see the special effects in Kong captain howdy 12-11-2005, 08:55 PM They set it in the correct time period right? It would be weird to see fighter jets taking on Kong. DJNateGnau 12-11-2005, 09:15 PM Yes sir, They did. captain howdy 12-11-2005, 09:19 PM Thank god they didn't "modernize" it like all the other remake films coming out. That the only thing I worry about with The Omen 666. I heard that Damian is suposed to older in the remake. DJNateGnau 12-12-2005, 12:03 PM LOS ANGELES (AFP) - A new version of "King Kong" to be released for the holiday season, from New Zealand director Peter Jackson, is reportedly the sixth most expensive film in Hollywood history. The adventures of the giant gorilla are shown through special effects costing 207 million dollars, compared with the 10 million dollars, in today's money, spent on the original by Merian Cooper in 1933, according to the New York-based business magazine Forbes. Forbes said Hollywood spent an average of 64 million dollars per film in 2004. The most expensive ever was "Cleopatra," with Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton, directed by Joseph Mankiewicz in 1963, for 286.4 million dollars (in 2005 money). Second was "Titanic," by James Cameron (1997) for 247 million dollars. Two years later, "Waterworld," directed by Kevin Costner, cost 229 million dollars. And "Terminator 3," the latest film starring Arnold Schwarzenegger before he become California governor, cost 216 million dollars in 2003. "Spider-Man 2" was made in 2004 for 210 million dollars, "Wild Wild West" with Will Smith for 203.8 million dollars in 1999 and "Speed 2" in 1997, cost 198.8 US dollars. That is an EXPENSIVE MOVIE! SIHHR 12-12-2005, 12:25 PM So are you going to see Kong or what DJNateGnau 12-12-2005, 12:27 PM Maybe, Depends on IF I want to spend $8.00 for the ticket, and 4.00 for a bottle of water, and another 4.00 for A small bag of popcorn with ARTIFICIAL BUTTER FLAVORED GREASE. captain howdy 12-12-2005, 12:40 PM It looks good. I liked the original, like Peter Jackson, and like J.B. so I probably will. SIHHR 12-12-2005, 02:09 PM thats' why I made this thread.
