View Full Version : HHR a popular car in my area today
SIHHR 12-11-2005, 04:42 PM While driving on the Staten Island Express way a Blue was going the opposite way. Then a red one got in back of me, it was the first time driving next to another HHR. I honked and waved and they waved back. Then I stopped at a shopping center and I saw another blue one, but this one had running boards, and roof rails. All 3 HHR's that I saw were 2LT's.
captain howdy 12-11-2005, 04:53 PM I think 2LT is going to be the most popular model. I know I have one. Its kind of hard to tell though seeing as how both 1LTs and 2LTs only say LT on the back and all of the 2LT options are available on the 1LT except for 17"s and sport tuned suspesion. I tell by the rims, but then that gets difficult if the person has replaced their factory rims.
SIHHR 12-11-2005, 08:11 PM Thats true about the differences. But Its very easy to nice the color and the add on's like the running boards, roof rails and spolier. Plus the crome.
captain howdy 12-11-2005, 08:14 PM I think Chevy should have taken the extra step to include a 1 or 2. I guess it was a cost saving measure. :D
SIHHR 12-11-2005, 08:24 PM Yeah well. GM is cutting back locations and staff. I'm sure that part would of cost them 10 cents or less for that number
TomsHHR 02-26-2006, 09:45 PM There is a bunch of 1LT's at the National Car rental at the Newark airport. National had almost 15 of the 1LT at Denver 2 weeks ago. Different colors. They must of got a boat load of them
SoCalHHR 02-26-2006, 09:49 PM You're kidding? I rented from Enterprise and all they had were LS's.

Hey Tom next time your in NJ let me know. I can drive you around for a cruise in my ride.
SIHHR 02-26-2006, 10:46 PM Alamo had LS's at the Fort Lauderdale Airport in sept
JonyyB 02-26-2006, 11:14 PM Invite them here :)
Here in VA they seem to be rare. This past week I make three trips for a combined mileage of about 850 and only saw one going the other way. Just about all those miles were on I-64, a pretty heavily traveled road here.

Same here in Rochester. Since launch I still have only seen about 5 or 6 on the road and like 6,000,000 on dealer lots.
Firewatcher 02-27-2006, 09:31 AM I keep seeing a silver one in my town and it has a dumping permit on it so I know they live close by. Other than that one, I really haven't seen any. I was at the dealer the other day and they only had 2 on the lot, so that is encouraging considering that last time I went by they had about a dozen.

Agree, same here in Cleveland area. I've kept an eye out for HHRs on the road since last Sept. Maybe seen 12 -15 total while driving and yet car dealerships have that many HHRs sitting on their lots! (per lot)
guido099 02-27-2006, 10:25 AM I Went up to Lexington Kentucky last week, I-40 to I-75, And only saw 2 on the road. Also while getting gas somewhere in western NC (Canton, maybe  )I saw 2 on a used car lot 1 silver 1 d.silver. Kinda odd to see them used already.

Hmmm... could be dealer demos or rental cars that were traded in already??
Also from what I've read in forums, it seems like the HHR is popular (more so) in the warmer states. :)
guido099 02-27-2006, 10:50 AM Yea Probally demo's. I didn't think of that.
Jddrumman 02-27-2006, 11:02 AM This week at the Greater Cleveland Auto Show, Chevy is giving away a HHR!
If your name is picked, you get a HHR key & if that key starts the HHR... you win! (yeah, that's a lot of "if"s) :p:

These two used ones in Miami have 8,000+ and 10,000+ miles. Don't believe that they were demos.

Sandstone 8000 miles / Silver 10000 miles.
SoCalHHR 02-27-2006, 04:52 PM Probably from a rental fleet, several rental companies use HHR's.
SIHHR 02-27-2006, 06:38 PM Hey I rented that Silver one. Well one just like it but it was an LS at the Fort Lauderale Airport. I hated not having a sunroof, plus the rear view mirror was so cheap looking, no fog lights. I was so spolied by my 2LT. It made me miss my car even more.
AlienHHR 02-27-2006, 07:15 PM There is a black 2LT and a silver 1LT in my subdivision, but everyone is supposed to keep there cars in the garage, so I don't see them often (actually, I've only seen each of them once!). Passed a silver one 2 weeks ago and saw a blue one 3 months ago. So they still seem pretty rare around here despite them flying off the lots at the 3 chevy dealers around here. I see 2 or 3 PT Cruisers everyday...
The rear view mirror is different in the LS???
TomsHHR 02-27-2006, 07:31 PM Hey Tom next time your in NJ let me know. I can drive you around for a cruise in my ride.
Actually my trips comming up are in Labrador Canada - March, Columbus Ohio - April, Salt Lake City - May, Waxahachie Texas in Sept, Denver again the end of August and Millbury Ma - Sept.
SIHHR - Newark is where I first seen and drove the HHR and it's when I said "Gotta have one of them!"
On average I see one HHR a day here in Phoenix - one day I saw 7. Not too sure what models but they are in the rental fleets which is a good business to be in here.
