Went to Jerrys today and they made me a catback for Shaggy. with the sensor mount and the bending, total cost was $165 out the door and i have my old system if i dont like the new. took them lil over an hour and runs great.

nice lower sound, not real loud and i am getting about the same scratch on start off, maybe a touch more in Low, got a nice chirp in 2nd. the big difference is the middle and top end. man does it get with it when i put my foot in it.

we did a 2.25 all the way back and used the T924. i am very pleased with this set up. nice growl on rev and wonderful howl on full take off.

i have found w the mods i do, it takes the pc a lil while to figure out what is going on and it gets better after a period of time.

they swedged the resonator to 2.25 so there isnt any problem there and it is all welded together and looks and runs awesome

it was 2.25 in pipe coming out of the manifold to the Cat. The cat had a reducer on it to 2" on the other end.

the section after the cat had the O2 sensor on it and it was 2" to the resonator. i could have kept it at 2" and saved some cash because of adding the new O2 mount. so that is something that can be done. i wanted it to be true 2.25.

the resonator was 2 and they cut it right at the opening and swedged it to 2.25 on both ends. they also welded right to the outside of it so it stayed 2.25. Not much resistance but lil help on keeping it quiet. he said if i wanted it off come back and they would just do it for the price i paid.

it was cool watching them take the longest last piece and copy it w the bender. really awesome. the T924 is already 2.25 so all they did was cut the reducer off from before and had the 2.25 inlet already there.

i dont know how much louder it would be w/o the resonator and i was thinking after i should have let them hook it up both ways and listened to each.

i am very happy w the way it is running and sounding. nice really low hum and the nice thing is it isnt much louder w your foot in it.

Be glad you kept the resonator in - we did mine without it first and you don't even WANT to know how loud it was! The HHR needs a resonator, unless you don't want to hear anything but drone.

Well the cat has been on for a couple of days and here is what i am finding out so far.
i havent lost any initial pick up off the line and if i have it is slight. still getting real nice scratch on held brake take offs. sometimes a lil chirp in 2nd, not all the time,,, the mid and top end is awesome. feels like it just has no resistance and i have nice pick up all through out the whole range.

we went out and did some of my favorite roads today w Txsman2930 and did 51 miles and 126 turns. just one fun time. to me Shaggy has more pick up in the turns now and it isnt a ton louder just a tad when you really stomp on it and it is really more of a lower pitch not really louder. pedal response from 20mph and up is really fun.

with the anti-sway bar, CGS and new exhaust, this lil HHR really gets w the program.

nest step is to remove the fog lights and put in air ducting to a Y and then to the front of the air filter.

muffler shop that did the custom cat said they could put in light weight aliminum tubing for me and i may see what they can do and how much, they are great and did a great job on the cat. bends and welds are awesome.

im going to start on that project tomorrow and see what i can do planning wise. i am looking at running the tubes through the bumper to keep it clean and out of the engine heat. will see if that will work
