View Full Version : Silicon Valley PT Cruisers Invites The HHR Community
ultramicrofiber 09-17-2006, 01:15 AM I presented the request tonight at the club gathering and everyone was very excited about inviting you to their annual Fall Fest held in Milpitas at the Foster's Freeze on Main Street on October 21st .
In fact there were several ideas brought up about having combined HHR & PT gatherings, including a tribute to the infamous designer of both, Bryan Nesbitt.
These are great folks that have a love for the automobile. Heck half the time I show up in another car besides a PT and gather a crowd, simply because we all enjoy cars, no matter what they are.
Here is a lowdown on the Fall Fest.
Events:
Blindfold Trike Obstacle Course/drags
Can you back up your PT or ride blindfolded better?

There are some incredibly talented people in this group and they promised something very special.
I really hope you take the time to come out and enjoy their company, they are definitely excited about having you. Trust me you wil be treated very well.
ultramicrofiber 10-18-2006, 03:12 AM No interest in this at all... kind of disappointing.... the group was really looking forward to meeting some HHR folks and have a good time. Well, I will let them know no one is coming........
teech 10-18-2006, 06:41 AM wow. I hadn't seen this post before (not that it matters...im in Providence!)
Are we really that standoffish?
Black Beauty 10-18-2006, 07:06 AM No interest in this at all... kind of disappointing.... the group was really looking forward to meeting some HHR folks and have a good time. Well, I will let them know no one is coming........
Our crowd has more fun before the run, no contests and stuff, well maybe a (1) legged race.
GDZHHR 10-18-2006, 09:57 AM I we were closer than we are, we would bring both our HHR's. Just WAY too far for us to drive.
Remember though please, the natives around here sometimes have a short memory span (I think its all the exhaust fumes! ), the more often you remind us of an event, the better the chances are we'll show.
You still might get some though!
dbarberaz 10-18-2006, 10:06 AM Little to far at this time for us. Maybe next time
SoCalHHR 10-18-2006, 02:47 PM Way too far for us to drive too. Perhaps they would want to meet up with us at next year's Solvang Run?
1HotHHR 10-18-2006, 08:09 PM If I don't have to work I will plan on being there. I have to agree the No. Cal. owners don't seem to be the get together type. About what time should we show up?
See ya down the road

booksmitty 10-18-2006, 11:54 PM We've tried and had little response or had a second run planned close to our meeting place and date so we ended up with lost "runners." So we'll wait I guess fo a while until there is more interest.
1HotHHR 10-19-2006, 01:21 AM I hope people don't wait to long. I'm 65 and not getting any younger, so I'm going to try to have as much fun now as I can. This life is not a practice so lets live it up. Beside its been a long time since I have had any chocolate chip cookies.
See ya down the road.

erf2u 10-19-2006, 12:11 PM I agree! here in NorCal, seems to have very little interest in G2G's. I know I was one of those "lost runners" in the past event, but, I just (my wife rather) had a baby (about 2 months old now). I hope there will be more interest or events in the near future, as I will certainly make an effort.
I am even considering dropping in on the PT event this coming weekend!
Nor-Cal HHR Club 10-19-2006, 12:54 PM SV is a tad far from us. Luckily there are a few owners living within 30 minutes from us that can make it to Modesto for a G2G... and if I replied a little sooner to an email, we would have met some great owners in SacTown. ;)
booksmitty 10-19-2006, 10:40 PM You can see a plan we had, but then decided to do Monterey and then had another run planned with Monterey included, so we withdrew our run. Can you add some ideas t this links idea?

1HotHHR 10-20-2006, 01:18 AM Oh Ya. How about a met at Andersons in St Anella for breakfast and then a run to Sonora then hiway 49 to Columbia then up to Jackson and a picnic at one of the Lakes (Lake Tabo) or others or a stop at one of the Casinos. I was going to plan one like this maybe in Jan. 07.
ANYBODY INTERESTED??????
See ya down the road

ultramicrofiber 10-20-2006, 03:09 AM Well, for those willing to show up.... this will be just a good time to talk about your HHR and enjoy some antics. The group was really looking forward to having HHR's show up and enjoy the evening.
No need for costumes. etc. Just show up and enjoy each other's company.
Trust me you will be treated very, very well. This group is very sensitive to bashing that has been going on and really wanted to show the HHR crowd, that the PT Cruiser crowd is really a good bunch of folks to be with.
In fact they were going to reserve the premium spots and make the HHR's that show the center of attention.
I will also give free Zaino for any HHR that shows:D
No worries, maybe further down the road... so to speak.

Anywhere between 5 PM and 8 PM
1HotHHR 10-20-2006, 11:28 AM Wow, center stage. I guess I had better wash Harvey. I don't have to work as of end of shift, so we plan on being there.
See ya down the road

Nor-Cal HHR Club 10-21-2006, 01:07 AM We should do something for Graffiti Night next year (Summer 2007). We can talk about that on Sunday.
You can see a plan we had, but then decided to do Monterey and then had another run planned with Monterey included, so we withdrew our run. Can you add some ideas t this links idea?

1HotHHR 10-22-2006, 12:16 AM Many thanks to ultramicrofiber for the invite to the PT Halloween get together. It was great. Many thanks for the zaino, I'm looking forward to using it.
See ya down the road.

mitzkity 10-22-2006, 01:24 AM OOOOOOOH, I lived in Cupertino for YEARS AND YEARS!!!! I AM SOO JEALOUS --- a Halloween party === pictures??? Will there be pictures????
erf2u 10-22-2006, 01:37 AM I showed up a bit late to this event, and there were 3 HHR's in the mix. Bud/Harvey, myself, and a sandstone HHR (sorry I did not get to meet you folks before you left)
I have to admit, I was a bit reluctant at first, but I am very glad I showed up. Many thanks to ultrmicrofiber (Steve), especially to the Silivon Valley PT Cruisers for the invitation, and the warm welcome! I will certainly be honored and try to make the next event.
Here are a few pics, unfortunately, I arrived just past sunset, so the pics are a bit dark.

After the other two left, it seemed like folks just started to swarm around my car, and looking at everything from the interior to under-the-hood. I really wish I had more mods than just my wheels (drew alot of attention anyway), but hence, all I could say was that the car was still in "original, un-restored, stock, mint" condition! :one: :thumb:

HE'S ILLEGAL!!!!! I've met Bud and Harvey --- nice folks. Hi BUD --- did you read the National Run thread? Would you do it --- WISCONSIN DELLS???
ultramicrofiber 10-23-2006, 05:17 PM Well, the numbers were small, but the popularity was huge. Lots of compliments from the Cruiser folks after the fact, about how wonderful it was to have the HHR's there. They are definitely looking forward to doing more.
Thanks for coming out.
There was a lot of interest from the Cruiser crowd, and it appears teh same goes for looking at some of the customizations on teh Cruiser that can be easliy transferred to the HHR.
Looks like a win-win for all.
Thanks
