I was looking on EBAY and they have a performance chip that says it's supposed to give the HHR 25 more horsepower. Has anyone tried it or does anybody know about any performance chips that actually work??? Please let me know

I highly doubt it, post the link to the auction. Most chips dont even help 20hp in other vechiles, only big gain iv seen in chips are in stock turbocharged or supercharged applications. Check out the vendor list for tune time, thats your best bet. :thumb:

All this performance chip is is a resistor in a box that you wire into the Intake Air Temp sensor (IAT). It makes the car think you are gettting a different air temp than usual and does nothing after a while. 25? no. maybe 1 or 2. NOT worth it!

This offers about the same performance....

Here's the link for the chip on EBAY. I'm at work and they blocked EBAY US because it was taking away attention. Don't ask lol. Somebody check it out and let me know what you think

Sorry, but.......it's junk. This has been discussed at length in the past. Try the stubby antenna, it's good for about 5 horses!!!(j/k) :steering:

We bought one months ago just to see what the deal was. It's just a 2500-ohm resistor in a plastic box - and it does not work on the HHR. For you to find that out though, you will have to cut up your MAF sensor wiring to splice it in. Only then will you discover it was a complete waste of time and money.

Better to learn from our mistakes...:D

Unfortunately there is no such "chip" or "module" you can use for your computer. Even for the earlier ECOTECs in the J-bodies, they were not able to chip...simply cause of the OBDII computers not being chippable.

So looking for a chip for more power is the wrong direction to head towards.

Before you start buying parts, think about what you're ultimate goal is as far as performance. That's the only way you'll reach it productively and not wastefully (money wise).

yeah.... So I bought one last year when I first got the HHR 'cause it was the first performance mod I found at the time.... Nice waste of $20. Oh well. Now that I am in the HHRNet crew, I have a lil' more guidance.
