How ugly are the airbag stickers on your visors. I think by now most of us know how to work a seat belt and what not to do with airbags.

This company makes decals that can be applied directly over the visor sticker. These decals are the same size as the visor labels and they look great. I have them in my Avalanche already. The site created HHR graphics that you can select from the drop down menu. They are really great quality and there are many colors to choose from.

I will post a pic when I get mine in the mail.

I wonder if an insurance company would mess with you if you got in a accident where a passenger was hurt?

I think they look pretty cool. I think they would look better from the outside looking in with the visors down. Too bad I can't put my visor down without completely blocking my vision. I have to disagree about them being the best mod for under $20 though. I think that would have to go to antenna replacement. ;)

The web site gives you a lot of color combinations. This is the one I picked for the grey interior.

They don't seem to have a shade shifter one anywhere.. I wanna see the Blue/Red.. Can't find any of the shadeshifter pics though.. That's kind of gay to advertise it and then not show it..

These are retro-looking vehicles, what about the pinstriping designs they have?
Howdy, when you do your ghost flames, are you going to clear over them? A lot of this stuff will leave edges that will curl or let dirt under them if they aren't cleared.

captain howdy
12-18-2005, 07:13 PM
Nah, I wouldn't clear coat over vinyl. I'm too afraid of them fading underneath the paint. I had vinyl stripes all over my Mustang and and never had a problem. Auto vinyl is really thick and really adhesive. It usually requires you to use a heat gun to remove it. When applied properly peeling or curling isn't even an issue. Hell the racing stripes on my Mustang had rock chips in them just like paint with no peeling aroud them. Your main enemy with auto vinyl is the sun. If you don't take care of the vinyl it fades. Likewise, if you don't take care of your paint it sun fades the paint and the paint under the vinyl stays dark.

My concern was that wax would want to get under the edges and then cause the adhesive along those edges to weaken.

captain howdy
12-19-2005, 06:35 AM
Thats not even a issue, unless maybe you are using an electic buffer or power washer on your ride. Hand waxing is fine and never caused me any vinyl peeling or anything. If your sloppy when you wax you will get dry wax around the outside edge of the vinyl though. Your not supposed to wax the vinyl itself, just the paint around it.

From everything I have seen, these would have to be the best mods under $20 hands down! Check out the links.

My votes for best mod under $20, either:

a) the "Stubby' Antenna

b) 3rd Brake Light Overlay

Both of those have a huge bang-for-buck factor IMO.

I put mine on so that when they are down they can be read from outside.

Makes sense. I don't think they will look bad from the inside that way either. I've actually had the stickers for a month and just about fried my brain trying to make a choice.

Thought I'd give this old thread some new life. Especially since it looks like I lost my "flaming bowtie" set and need to order a new set. I had the HHR and liked it too. Just want to go for a different look. Bonnie has these and they look great!

I chose to go with the exterior color (blue background w/ silver bowtie), but I already knew that parts of my interior were going to be painted to match the exterior as well.

Looks cool, Deb!!

The only thing to think about is (on most designs) is that if it is "right side up" from inside the car, when you put the visors down it will be upside down from the outside. That can make choices confusing and why I chose a plain bowtie, right side up either way.

For whatever reason Chevrolet thinks putting a light colored headliner in a dark interior gives the appearance of a more open/spacious interior. I think it looks like poo.

courthousedeb
09-07-2007, 07:44 AM
Doesn't make any difference to me if it's upside down. When my car is parked I've got this in there anyway. And I very rarely put the visors down anyway, except to tuck the sunshield behind it. ;)
