Well folks that's what Bonnie and I have so far.

We are very open to any suggestions and would like any/all input.

I have lined up one sponsor, kinda by accident. Had Bonnie's car at the dealer and got to talking to the service manager and next thing I know they're gonna hook us up with some merchandise for the run!:D

That's the one thing we will need help with, if this run is given a go. We'll need to know what types of businesses to ask to sponsor the event and what to ask for.

The week-end will need to be decided by the group and I will be posting info on the site for the show and also lodging posibilties in the next couple days. Plenty of resort/lodges and also a great camping area right on the lake run by the Corp.

We tried to leave most of the day open on friday so families could also spend time doing more vacation type stuff. The marina by the camp grounds rents boats jet-skis, ect. There should also be time for those who like to fish to get a few casts in!

So let's here it! What do ya all think?

I thought we were going to have proposals from a couple of other places also and then take a vote on where everyone wanted to go by majority for the big run? (At least that what I read on an earlier post.)

You are correct. That's why it says proposal at the top;) .

We're just the first ones to put it out for people to see.

Whatcha think?:D

My appologies-I did not see that at the top! Boy, am I ever embarassed! I just want to weigh all the options and see which I think will draw the BIGGEST group of HHR's together in one spot! You did a great job in collecting the info you have posted! Thank you for that.

Well, :twothumbs Thats One Proposal started good job Mike & Bonnie:yourock: .
I like that but it's a little to much for the Z's at this time but I'll wait and see what else comes up. Hey Mama how are the Taylors doing, Fine I hope. I am very happy every one responded to B/B special day he is catching up to me. Ha! Ha! Ha!

Thanks.

We'll have the lodging up in a few hours/days.:D

The route for the Big Bash Run on Saturday is just an amazing drive!!

The check-in spot is beautiful and a great place for pics.:thumb:
Definitely a daytime drive unless you're sure of it.:steering:

And Catfish Cabin has really good food. Actually all I've ever had there is catfish and shrimp, but that is great. already talked to them and they can take up to 110 of us at once. That should be plenty for Thursday night. Fun Spot had a nice go-kart track, they got new karts this years, and two decent mini-golf courses, an arcade and they just added a water slide. Just good clean fun for after a long day of driving. Plus as an added bonus the drive to Eureka Springs is fun too.

Dixie Stampede is supposed to be a blast but if the group would rather have a different dinner show that's fine. I just thought this would be something the whole family would enjoy.

Please give us any feedback and/or suggestions! Remember folks this is the Mid-Central's event, not Bonnie's and mine so no feelings will be hurt. We just want the best run possible. It's gonna be tough to top the 1st Annual in Peoria but we sure can try!:D

By too much do you meant the fee?

If that's it remember that that includes the dinner show in Branson, the show/shine/BBQ and the Sunday morning breakfast. If we get enough sponsors it may be lower, plus I haven't talked to Branson about the group rates yet so we may be able to get it lower.

If that's not it, then let me know so we can work on it. This is just the first draft so to speak. The whole thing can be changed.

Thanks Z-Man!

Very nice Mike. I bet it would bring in alot of people

The spot we're planning on the show & shine can handle 150+ cars and has a big enough pavillion for the BBQ.

Thanks Angelo.

BTW, this is the event I PM'd you about.

I was thinking.....for those who want to keep cost down we could do the show in Branson as an opt-in when you register. That way people could still go, take part in all of the other functions and do their own thing Friday night.

When were you trying to get this rolling.

I don't own an HHR but it still sounds like a good time.

The Peoria, Galena and Wisconsin Dells Area Convention and Visitor Bureaus are putting together their package offers so I can finish their three proposals. I have asked for packages including discounted lodgigns some free or reduced meals, entertainment discounts advertizing support ecetera. As soon as these proposals are received I will have there full packages submitted to the group. I have been in contact with major sponsors from all three areas as well as having scouted cruise areas. Locking in specific cruise events with local clubs will likely have to wait until after the first Getz listing comes out. I will also be speaking with Oldschool's friends at JC Whitney and other manufactures to form a dealers row...Hey SoCal do you have a trailer to fill with goodies to sell, why not consider coming east for this one ? I apologize for the delay, but at this point waiting for these package proposals is a necessary evil...

Pat, Gotta question.

The sponsors, are they a go regardless of where we hold the event?

I do have one sponsor, Weber Chevrolet, and they don't care where it's being held.

Because of a very good point someone made we could price this out so that people would be able to be more flexible.

$10 per car for the show
$10-20 per person for the BBQ & breakfast
$30-45 per person for the dinner/show in BransonAgain all feedback/suggestions is appreciated.

I think the race track/charity thing will take more time and planning that we have right now. That type of event should be talked about by all in the region since it will take a bunch of work by a bunch of people.

Now if ya wanna hook up at a track, all we gotta do is pick a week-end and say......BE THERE!!!!!

Bonnie and I would like to announce this event. While it is in Missouri, we don't consider it a regional event, we are also not planning this as a national event. It is only what it is.

A chance for people from all over to get together, have fun, eat, talk, hang out and eat some more!:D Oh yeah, we're hoping there will be an HHR or two there. We know there will be at least two, Bob and HHRMOM. If that's all, we'll still be happy!

We know this won't work for all, but we think it might for many!;)

For complete details you can visit the website. 2007 Shindig in Shell Knob (http://www.geocities.com/yeshua63043/2007ShindigatShellKnob1.html)

It will be held Aug. 2-5, 2007:thumb:

The new thread for this event is HERE. (http://chevyhhr.net/forums/showthread.php?t=5336)
