View Full Version : Local Zonies October run..... Retroburban 09-30-2006, 05:20 PM October is here my fellow Zonies... any ideas for a run? dbarberaz 09-30-2006, 06:38 PM October is here my fellow Zonies... any ideas for a run? Well lets see , we have gone wayyyyy up north to the canyon and down south, and in Nov going on the toy run up north, maybe have something local in the valley? Maybe meet out by me and Snoopy and head east to Globe even. Not much to do, but nice drive. Or just drive from east Mesa thru Chandler up thru Tempe up thru Phoenix and Finish up in Scottsdale  Retroburban 09-30-2006, 09:26 PM I hear you...and agree with you. What about Holiday stuff..anything festive going on in your neck of the woods? en0oNmAI 09-30-2006, 09:43 PM Thought something was mentioned about a carnival and pumpkins near Queen Creek... what about that? Retroburban 09-30-2006, 09:53 PM That would be Schnepfs farms (I don't think that is spelled right). They have some carnival rides for the kids, pumpkin patch, home made pies, great bar b que, corn maze, petting zoo. en0oNmAI 09-30-2006, 09:56 PM That sounds pretty fun! Not sure about anyone else. And who said anything about kids?!?! Rides are AWESOME! Kidding about the kids! HAHAHA! Retroburban 09-30-2006, 10:11 PM My kids are glued to my hip! So, I guess I always think of things that are kid friendly... I am not opposed to getting a babysitter if someone has a better suggestion! Like the HIN show coming up you posted...looking for sitter so I can get out and enjoy the cars without saying "stop that, don't touch that, don't breath on that!:  dbarberaz 09-30-2006, 10:46 PM Thought something was mentioned about a carnival and pumpkins near Queen Creek... what about that? Forgot all about idea. Could be fun en0oNmAI 10-05-2006, 10:35 PM Anyone else put anymore thought into the farm thing? Is there a number I can call and check it out? Jason, give a call when you all get done Sat... maybe we can all meet up for dinner since you are in town? en0oNmAI 10-06-2006, 02:19 AM As far as the trip goes, Jubilee will be with me, however... her mother wants to go as well. Not such a bad thing since we acutally get along now but just a heads up. Grrrrr.... Sat night not sure. Was told that a few guys go out to a place called the Pav's or Pavillions... not sure about that... The 2 guys I am helping with the nitrous install have a couple ideas too but if they are heading out to the illegal races I am bailing on that... Just glad to be out of Tucson for once. Oh and tomorrow night (friday) I am back out at the strip and get to try out my exhaust and intake at the track to see what kind of times I am making now! Also teaching a couple guys from the cobalt forum how to stage and the tree and launch... they're juniors in highschool and have never been. Already talked with their parents and got them to sign waivers for the kids. made sure they know I am not responsible for their kids, the kids are on their own and the parent's responsible... One of their dads is going cause he is really interested in seeing what his son thinks is fun! Makes me feel like an old man and I'm only 26!!!! HAHAHA! Sorry guys and gals! I know I am still the baby of this group...:D dbarberaz 10-06-2006, 09:50 AM As far as the trip goes, Jubilee will be with me, however... her mother wants to go as well. Retroburban 10-06-2006, 12:42 PM The 21st works for me and the boys! en0oNmAI 10-06-2006, 03:04 PM Now we just gotta wait and see about Snoopy, Mike and Yvonne... am I missing anyone? Snoopy 10-06-2006, 07:29 PM Thanks for the invite fellow "Zonies". But my lady and I, will be in Hawaii. Leaving on the 17th....be back on the 25th. Have a great time and think of me....just a little. You're a great bunch and hate to miss the "event", but you know....it's Hawaii. Somebody (or anybody) wants to PM me their address, I'll send a card. Really wanted to take Stubby with me. But he needs to be with an HHR group. Driving from here to Hawaii is a little difficult (I can't hold my breath that long). Oh, Jason you want me to see about bringing a girl back for you??? en0oNmAI 10-06-2006, 08:26 PM oooh... exotic. Nice, me likes! Kinda hard to put in a suitcase and even if she did fit I don't like 'em THAT young! mikeguru 10-06-2006, 09:45 PM Gee, we sure would like to attend, BUT - wife has to work so we can take off the following weekend, which includes our 11th Anniversary (the 29th). We might drive to Vegas for our Anniv. Anyhow, sure sorry we're going to miss it this time. Sounds like it's going to be the best run yet. Take lots of pics, and hopefully, there can be another fun G2G in Nov. that we will be able to make. You and your little girl could always come up and suprise mom with a pumpkin. As far as Nov goes I do know that Jason and I will be joining Mandy on a toy drive poker run. Your welcome to join that if we do not have another run. I am looking at a few ideas for a G2G in Dec. HOTAZHHR 10-06-2006, 10:42 PM This "newbie" is going to try and make the Oct G2G at Schnepf Farm. May or may not have the kids with me. Would be great to have you along! JimZ_HHR 10-06-2006, 11:03 PM Geee nothing to do in Yuma? Retroburban 10-06-2006, 11:36 PM Geee nothing to do in Yuma? Unfortunately I have been to Yuma a lot... not much there but a Wal-Mart! A run to San Diego might be fun some time next year! dbarberaz 10-07-2006, 12:08 AM This "newbie" is going to try and make the Oct G2G at Schnepf Farm. May or may not have the kids with me. Hope your able to make it. Once it gets a little closer we find a spot to meet and all go out at the same time. Kids or no kids you will have a good time :thumb: dbarberaz 10-07-2006, 12:10 AM Geee nothing to do in Yuma? Have to agree not much to do down there. Got any ideas? We are looking at a spring time G2G something that most or all over are cali friends and Az HHRs can do mabye even picking someplace where the northen folks can join also. en0oNmAI 10-07-2006, 12:27 AM As far as Dec goes they have a big "courthouse lighting" ceremony in Prescott. Not much as far as our other trips... We have winterhaven here in Tucson that the whole neighborhood does a light show. Not many were doing it last year though. For those who like the haunted stuff... Old Tucson Studios does a thing called "nightfall" for the whole month of October. Its $20.95 to get in for adults. Not sure of kids prices. They have 3 shows, 3 walkthrough haunted houses, and a haunted train ride. They have actors dress up and walk around too dressed as whatever theme they are doing. This year its "Dark Assylum" and the actors are dressed as dead crazy house people. Its really neat! Open usually from 6pm-10pm and shows are staggered so you can see all 3. Anyone needs anymore info lemme know! dbarberaz 10-09-2006, 10:33 AM Guess it is time to be thinking of a meeting place and time. Are we going to spend all day out there, or should we be looking for something else to do. I looked at a map and it looks like maybe we should meet up someplace over by my house, since it is on the way. Let me know what everyone else things Retroburban 10-09-2006, 11:41 AM Guess it is time to be thinking of a meeting place and time. Are we going to spend all day out there, or should we be looking for something else to do. I looked at a map and it looks like maybe we should meet up someplace over by my house, since it is on the way. Let me know what everyone else things I can tell you when we were out there last year... we were there for several hours. They have fireworks of an evening too, so should we meet up early afternoon and stay for the fireworks show? Some place over by you works for me. What is the status on your car? Will it be back in time for this run? dbarberaz 10-09-2006, 05:14 PM Some place over by you works for me. What is the status on your car? Will it be back in time for this run? If not we are making a run to the dealership and pulling it out. I should have it any day now. But then again they said that a few days ago :red: Snoopy 10-09-2006, 05:30 PM Geee nothing to do in Yuma? Actually, going thru Yuma to San Diego, 2 times a week for almost 10 years I was able to witness some pretty amazing "stuff". A good number of classis and muscle cars shows, where the owners either drive or trailer them (mostly in the "winter" months). The hauted hotel...if that is still done. The vintage train ride. Periodically the Marine Air Station has an open house. Counting illegals coming across the desert. The Dunes (actually in Calif.) for great photo ops (Star Wars, Rambo, etc.) Counting more illegals coming across that desert. Watching the lettuce grow. Retroburban 10-09-2006, 05:39 PM If not we are making a run to the dealership and pulling it out. I should have it any day now. But then again they said that a few days ago :red: We could make a run of it. Circle the dealership until they relase your car! dbarberaz 10-09-2006, 07:38 PM We could make a run of it. Circle the dealership until they relase your car! Round them up let move em out  en0oNmAI 10-10-2006, 07:13 PM Rawhide!!! Sorry got caught up in the moment. This is so you can google a map from you to the store. You will just take I10up here then th US60 exit east. Mandy you would just take I10 south to the US60 then east Or if everyone wants we can meet at my place. Just let me know where everyone wants to meet and I will give you that info if you want Here is the link for where we will be going and they have a local map. If you look at the map we can just shoot right down power road. http://www.schnepffarms.com/ Do we have a head count of who is going to make it? Jason, Mandy, Me anyone else? HOTAZHHR 10-11-2006, 11:18 AM I am a definite MAYBE. Just means Jubilee can sleep on the way up. Although that 11am sounds good. Lunch and a cruise too. Just not sure if the ex will be up in time. Told her whatever time is set she needs to be ready cause I gotta keep my priorities straight... and HHR's come before the ex! I already got Jubilee so... no worries! HAHA! Just lemme know. My vote is for 11 so far though. Retroburban 10-11-2006, 10:28 PM 11:00 sounds good to me. I like the idea of lunch and a cruise before hand! dbarberaz 10-11-2006, 10:29 PM Ok 11 works for me. After talking to Gina, it would probally be easier to meet at Toys R US. Dealing with traffic around the house because they have road working going on,(cars could get dirty cannt have that) plus we live in a gated housing area. Personally I would love to have about 3-5 HHR's parked out front of my house  But think Toys r us would work out better. Retroburban 10-13-2006, 12:19 AM Toy's R Us it is! So 10/21 at 11:00!
