There is still enough interest in a club, that a group of us are offering membership to a club for the states of Illinois, Iowa, Indiana, Wisconsin, Missouri and Kentucky (Illinois and any bordering state) while this geographic area is fairly large we think that it is manageable and would allow members to easily drive to events within that area. This club will be designed to futher promote the fun and friendships spawned by the forum and the HHRs. The goals of this organization will be to organize events such as carshows, runs and larger events supporting chairties and the organization's goals of fun and friendship. This organization is in no way meant to compete or detract from any regional activites of groups within the forum or other clubs that will likely form as the HHR contines to grow in popularity and groups like the forum continue to create friendships and allow the exchange of ideas. This club will have it's own website for the members to post and for the club to distribute information monthly newsletters etc. There will be quarterly meetings supported by a monthly electronic newsletter (avaliable in hardcopy form at a members request). We feel that the structure allowed by a club will be an aid to the planing and execution of larger events and simply allows members another level in the HHR experience. If you are interested you may pm me at the forum or contact me at scaleguy61@hotmail.com...Thank you for allowing us this time and space in the forum and have a great day !!!

I have PM'ed most people that where at the Summer Run and the House Warming to see who wants to be an "OFFICER". Pat and I feel that the people that where at the said functions are the cornerstone of the "club" and should be the people to start this group. And by NO means does this mean that people (6 states) will not have a chance to become an "officer" after the first year. Also, if you don't like the idea's of this thread, PLEASE do not use this forum as a pulpit to preach. OK, with that all being said, If I didn't PM you please let me know if your interested in: President, Vice- President, Secretary, and Treasurer. P.S. A wife can also be an "officer"

Robin, you are absoltely right and I had Rita's permission for this post...hahaha. As James said we are looking towards the core group that has been interested as the starting point, and as we grow the scope will change to reflect the growth...This again is by no means anything that should create problems, the club is not intended or designed to detract from the forum or the Mid-Central region...It is just another layer of flavor (food reference...surprise!!!) and will hopefully be a nice addition...I certainly hope that this anouncement will not be seen as anything more than what we have stated...

What about the name?

I remember something like Midwest HHR or something along those lines, how about a naming contest?

If y'all like Midwest, I'm cool with that!

I just thought with the group of minds we've got around here(keep the jokes to yourself! ) we could come up with something fun/cool that says more about the club than where some of it is!:2cents:

No matter what though, I'm in!

Here's a few, mostly boring, ones I thought of.

Mid-America HHR Club
Land of Lincoln HHR Club
Illini HHR Club
HHR Club of Greater Illinios
Runs “R” Us
The Greatest Club on Earth

I have to admidt I like the Mid-America HHR's. That way it really puts no limitations on the geography.

Mid-America= Mid West
Mid-America=USA as compared to the continent

Ha! I like Runs "R" Us! Except someone outside the club might think we were all "sick"! Well, I guess most of us are (hmmmmm....deerman!)

Seriously though, that is not a bad idea! We have to remember that it is going to involve states other than Illinois so........I like "Robin's Club" J/K! That's a bad joke! Food for thought though!

My only thought about using Illinois in the name was that the club is planned to be centered on Illinois. So the name could reflect that.

I didn't even think about the "sick" angle to Runs "R" Us!!

I could deal with Mid-America or Midwest, the Illinois stuff seems to be a bit limiting, Runs "R" Us, would likely be a very descriptive name if all goes as planned... we can leave this thread open until Friday then we can make a list of suggestions and vote on it...I have also opened the yahoo site again as a temporary place for club info so we don't clog the forum, but as long as the mods don't care here is cool too!!! the site address is http://groups.yahoo.com/group/midwesthhr . I would like to see viable logo ideas maybe leaving the lettering blank until the name vote, this needs to happen as I have a possible supplier and I think that Robin has one as well so we can check prices and quality, delivery times etc...James has been good enough to make a bunch of the forms necessary for general club usage so that is out of the way. We will need to have many discussions/threads concerning small issues so please let your opinion be known so that this club becomes an organization of fun activities and accomplishments for us all...If you have anything else I am here, at yahoo and at home so you can probably catch me...although work seems to think that I should actually produce data...imagine !!! that really limits the amount of fun I can have while being paid...I guess that I will just have to work fast and take long breaks !!! See ya'
