Yep, an Ottawa (Barrhaven) HHR owner here.

It is really weird, I have only seen maybe 5 or 6 different HHRs around so far.

I am starting to see more and more HHRs in the west end of Ottawa now.

i see lots in the east end
worst part they are all white like mine but logoed up with business logos

I'm waitin' on my HHR. It has been ordered, but is still in its gestation phase somewhere in Mexico.... The dealer says 6-8 weeks, so only another month to go :(

In any case, when I do get it there will be one more imperial blue HHR running around in Ottawa's west end!

Who are you getting it from? Myers, Chevy West? Other?

Getting it from Reid Brothers in Arnprior. I live out in West Carleton, so it's actually quite a bit closer than anything in Ottawa. As well, it's where we bought my wife's car.

A great buying experience - they are a laid back group, and they make you feel comfortable. When I went there to show my wife the HHR the receptionist just tossed me a set of keys so I could have a look at the one they had sitting in front of the showroom!

The waiting though.... I guess it gives me more time to mke a choice between Moon disk dzus (more work) or 18s (more money!)

Having a good dealership to work with makes all the difference in the world.

Just be careful when looking to spend $$$ on modifications, it's addictive.
I've spent over $1,000 in mods over the last 2 weeks :eek:

Now all I need is some warm weather and dry ground to start installing it all :lol:

I spied that one of your future mods is that lower grill. Where are you buying it? How much? (If you don't mind me asking of course!)

A lower grill is on my list as well. I am considering vent visors as, but if I go with the Moon disks than I'll have to find some with a chrome finish!

I know how quick money can go out the window when spending it on a car. That is why I am going to take the time now to have a good hard think about it - and let everyone else figure out what works and what doesn't!

I bought the lower grille from a member of this site that had a new one and was selling it. Got it for $65 US shipping included.

I was only able to find 2 web sites that sell the Carriage Works lower grille; one will not ship to Canada at all, the other one will only ship on orders over $500. I haven't checked any of the local shops to see if they carried it.

I read one of your other posts where you had been looking with no luck. I was kinda hoping that you had run across a source for the parts in Canada, but hadn't posted your find yet...

Anyone know of any HHR friendly car shows around here? I've seen a large get together in Kanata on Tuesday night at Hazeldean Mall, but I'm not sure if that is vintage stuff only.

That's kinda funny.

Mews/Myers/Chevy West (all owned by Mews) go to the US regularly and buy cars and trucks at auctions (including HHRs), bring 'em up here, Canadianize them and sell them on their used car lots.

They buy them in US and Canadianize them (Translation, just about double the price of them)

Hi all.. I bought a Black 1LT for my wife's birthday ( we imported two HHRs, along with 1craztcdn from Penn.).

Now we are getting all the necessary accessories. :thumb:

One item we are going to be getting is the rear sway bar.

The wife really likes the car!

Hmmm.... now you're tempting me. I had an oversize sway bar on my previous car and I remember the ride improvement. I wasn't bothering with this one because of shipping/ UPS brokerage fees/ etc. but now.... yeah maybe. It's pretty much just the GST at customs, right? Last fall I picked up a water softener at Sears in Malone, NY and they waived me through. :smile:

Oh, I know how it looks like.;) I was looking at doing something similar but I don't know anyone close enough on the US side. Never Enough Auto has it listed for 137 $US. Even at full price it's a good deal, considering that you skip all of the shipping-across-the-border hassle.

When were you planning on doing this? No rush for me; I can't install it until I can crawl under it in my driveway, so not for another 2 months.

I bought mine before Mike (SoCal HHRs) closed down.

It depends on the shipper used. Mine was shipped via USPS and I didn't have to pay any GST, customs, brokerage charges.

Just took possession of my 2008 LT Imperial Blue 2.2. Still getting familiar with where everything is on her and how it works.

Would enjoy finding out about Ottawa HHR Meets and such.
