captain howdy 01-04-2006, 08:00 AM Not my style and they don't fit. The HHRs bolt pattern is 5-110.

fenris222 01-04-2006, 08:53 AM First, from one Black HHR owner (2LT here) to another WELCOME and I personally thank all of you vets who are IMHO, great American HERO's! Now back on topic. I personally like the style and have been looking and waiting for a more classic style of wheel. If you like centerlines and money is not an object, they will custom build along with a few other companies. As mentioned the bolt pattern is 5x110 and the offset I believe is 42+. Hopefully, more companies will offer more non-tuner style wheels for the HHR. That is where I am sitting, I have the $, but I really haven't found that wheel that does it for me. Good luck in your search and I was really impressed by your Stang! Share in your search and I will do the same!
Best of luck,
Fenris!
shugga 01-04-2006, 11:29 AM I would really like to put a set of these on my black HHR. I saw them at the store and really liked them.

snksknr94 01-04-2006, 11:30 AM I don't like anything by American Racing they all seem cheap in my opinion. I've only come across a handful of wheels that I like and come in the right pattern, may wat to wait until more styles become available. On a side note I did find the wheels I think I'm gonna get, but they will remain top secret at the moment, don't want anybody stealing my thunder yet. :D
captain howdy 01-04-2006, 11:34 AM I agree about American Racing, they make cheap rims. These are what I'm partial to right now:

They don't have them in the right size for the HHR but I also haven't made my final decision.
It sure is frustrating with the limited availability of wheel choices for the HHR right now. I would think that there will be a lot more choices soon. There are so many wheels with the offset needed and bolt patterns so close to the HHR's 5-110 that many manufacturers only need to set up a jig for the pattern. Let's hope they get moving on this soon!!
Some added comments:
If anyone is considering chrome wheels, try to find out if they have had any problems. Chrome plating on aluminum is tricky and can result in problems if not done right.
Also, most "polished" finish wheels (including Chevy's) have the surface finished and are then clear coated to prevent corrosion. The down side (and this includes chromed) is that you cannot repair minor damage like the typical "curb rash".
An "advantage" of painted wheels is that minor damage can be easily fixed and the wheel repainted. Over the years I've had many factory and aftermarket wheels and swear by the painted when the inevitable damage happens.
kodak_jack 01-05-2006, 05:26 AM The problem with aluminum wheels, especially ones in the frigid North, is that they're fine until you need to replace the tires. As soon as you pull the original wheel weights, they corrode where the weights were and then just get worse as time goes on. If I were to buy American Racing wheels, I'd go for the Torque Thrust series. I don't want a wheel that looks like a stock wheel. Why bother?

I'll second that. Salt and aluminum don't mix. Its a good thing Chevy put the weights on the inside of the rim. At least the corrosion wont be visible on the surface.

Hey Shugga, I have a set of these on my Black HHR for my snow tires. There is a pic in the members gallery (not the best angle) but you get the picture. I got a great deal on them, but really not my cup of tea yet better than the black painted steel wheels.

I believe Boyd Coddington has the same design in the Gotcha Series and I know Erich from Darkside said you can get anything from that series to fit the HHR. They are expensive, but Erich quoted some pretty good prices, just a little FYI!
captain howdy 01-05-2006, 08:19 AM Price is no object when it comes to rims. You have to be willing to pay if you want nice ones. I can't stand when people brag about their rims and they turn out to be $50 to $75 each American Racing Walmart specials. I should check out Boyds Gotcha Series again. He has maltese cross rims also right?
Markiemark 01-05-2006, 10:01 AM BOYDS -----> billetwheel.com
Ummm, nice wheels!!!
captain howdy 01-05-2006, 10:06 AM Boyd does have a similar design but it is not as cool as the Zinik design.
Markiemark 01-05-2006, 11:16 AM They does do?????
captain howdy 01-05-2006, 11:39 AM Fixed. I should read my post before hitting the submit button. Thats why I have to go back and edit so many of my post.

My buddy had Boyd build a customer one off set off Maltese cross wheels. They looked pretty cool.
SoCalHHR 01-05-2006, 02:03 PM Guys I am in contact with several wheel manufacturers - trying to bring more HHR application wheels to market. You've got to know this process is like pulling teeth. Hopefully, we will get someone's attention soon and start the "wheels turning" - if you get my "drift."
Emails will help - send them to every wheel manufacturer you know - right on their "Contact Us" page: "Build more wheels for the 2006 Chevy HHR"
The squeaky wheel gets the grease....
captain howdy 01-05-2006, 02:20 PM Looks like I need to bother Zinik.
inarmywpride 01-08-2006, 07:29 AM FOUND THE WHEELS I AM GOING TO GET IN 19's
http://www.zenetti.com/html/2005/index.php?section=wheels&detail_style=FIVE&detail_finish=CHROME&carID=522
inarmywpride 01-08-2006, 07:41 AM i would love to do 20's but how wide can we go..... is 8.5 to wide???????????
captain howdy 01-08-2006, 11:12 AM I like them better than your first choice. I think widest we can go from the factory is 8".
SIHHR 01-08-2006, 12:51 PM As long as your happy with what you have for your wheel's that what counts the most
snksknr94 01-08-2006, 01:57 PM I was thinking about 19's but tires are too damn expensive since it is an odd size, you don't have many choices.
JT's HHR 01-13-2006, 11:45 AM This is what I found for my HHR
captain howdy 01-13-2006, 11:56 AM Interesting design but not quite my style.
JT's HHR 01-13-2006, 12:02 PM They are 18" Diablo Webs
snksknr94 01-13-2006, 12:36 PM Not my style. I'm a fan of open wheels, but those don't look bad.
SIHHR 01-13-2006, 08:50 PM I think I seen that style in DUB mag. Am I not mistaken?
flyhhr 01-22-2006, 01:49 PM These will not fit you need a 20x8 1/2 with a 42mm off set and the bolt pattern is 5x110. I have a set of 20'' going on my hhr. I have test fitted them and they will work.
