I have fixed many hack radio jobs that people paid to have done. Most common thing I see is shitty wire routing so wires chaffe and short or using those home wiring screw type connectors to put wires together.

There's some quality work! :roll:

The worst I have worked on was my buddy Dan's Shadow. It wasn't even anything special just an aftermarket head unit hooked up to some crappy aftermarket speakers with no amps or subs. The person who had put it together used 3 or 4 pieces of wire between the head unit and the speakers. They had just spliced together whatever they had in the garage. They would start one color at the head unit and change 2 or 3 times along the way. :eek:

I ordered some heated seat units to put in my Toyota. I had to remove the switch that came with it to hook them up to my stock switch units. The color on the wiring changed THREE times before it got to the heaing element. I was amazed that I got them hooked up correctly. I had to unravel the covering just to follow and find the colors.

It's amazing what some people do. :roll:

Whenever I did car phone installs back in the day, we allways stressed quality assurance. A poor install can ruin the rep for the audio place/installer and cost $$$ to replace parts
