bdubsee 12-27-2006, 02:45 PM DETROIT – Chevrolet announced the HHR Premiere Edition, which features a special Cappuccino Frost Metallic exterior color and a special Ebony/Gray two-tone interior.
Only 4,000 HHR Premiere Editions will be built.
The HHR Premiere Edition begins production early in the first quarter of 2007; it is based on the popular HHR 2LT. The Premiere Edition package is priced at $995 MSRP and includes the following features:
Seventeen-inch black chrome wheels
Black chrome exterior package
Front fog lamps with smoked lenses
Headlamps with smoked lenses
Color-keyed running boards
Color-keyed outside rearview mirrors
Exterior accent stripe
Aero wing rear spoiler
Black, roof-mounted side rails
Leather-wrapped steering wheel with contrasting stitching
Custom floor mats
Cappuccino Frost Metallic exterior color
Ebony/Gray two-tone interior
The HHR 2LT equipment includes a 2.4L Ecotec engine, FE3 sport suspension, anti-lock brakes, air conditioning, power windows, power door locks, power outside mirrors, cruise control and remote keyless entry. Also standard is a 260-watt Pioneer sound system with subwoofer, including a front-mounted auxiliary input jack so that an iPod or similar device can be played through the audio system.
“The HHR has been among the hottest selling vehicles in the industry since its introduction last year,” said Cheryl Catton, general director of Chevrolet car marketing. “The HHR Premiere and the previously announced HHR Panel will help us maintain that momentum in 2007.”
Since its launch, HHR has received five-star crash ratings – the highest rating awarded by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s (NHTSA) New Car Assessment Program. The five-star ratings were awarded for the driver and right-front passenger in a frontal crash, as well as five-star side-impact crash ratings for front seat and rear seat passengers. The HHR also was the highest-rated SUV for the 2006 model year in NHTSA rollover testing.
bdubsee 12-27-2006, 02:51 PM Mods- should I have put this in the "Front Page News" forum? If so, please move as desired.
O6ChevyHHR 12-27-2006, 02:52 PM Yes it would be best in front page news.
FIRETRUCKHHR06 12-27-2006, 02:52 PM Nice...and the black chrome doesn't look to bad.
HillsdaleHHR 12-27-2006, 02:57 PM Looks ok. Fills the spot between white and sandstone I guess. C'mon chevy, lets add some spice!
bdubsee 12-27-2006, 02:58 PM I was thinking of a poll to decide what Cappuccino Frost is:
a) Beige
b) Off-white
c) Ecru
d) Cream
e) Is boring a color?
O6ChevyHHR 12-27-2006, 03:01 PM sort of looks like pearl white.
bdubsee 12-27-2006, 03:03 PM sort of looks like pearl white.
I was joking - but it kind of does in this poorly done PR photo

All the above. Not necessarily boring but not exciting either.
O6ChevyHHR 12-27-2006, 03:06 PM w/e lol
bdubsee 12-27-2006, 03:07 PM I would love a color like "Infrared" on the Cadillac CTS - though it is a $995 option there. I just prefer colors with depth.
GRUMPEE 12-27-2006, 03:43 PM They should rename it to .......StarBucks WTO Special Edition
bdubsee 12-27-2006, 03:47 PM You know, looking at this picture closely...don't you think it would have been nice to close the hood completely? That area is already a bit "iffy" in fit and finish and this blunder makes it look worse.
Compare the photos below-
SICKS.OH 12-27-2006, 04:00 PM good eye!
ymerej_mortsdnil 12-27-2006, 04:06 PM I think it looks o.k., although I would have to see it in person...In pictures I think I would prefer my Summit White...
Also, I personally think the rims are not as nice looking as the high polished 17" like I have on my 2LT. I think that on the special editions so far they should have had a better looking rim design or just used the better looking standard rims...
But whatever, the HHR is still the coolest vehicle on the road!!!
O6ChevyHHR 12-27-2006, 06:29 PM good job eagle eyes! lol :)
HHR Forever 12-27-2006, 06:30 PM Ew thats ugly.
greyghost 12-28-2006, 08:58 AM IMHO...this color has some pizzazz BUT...why in the sam hell would you put a EBONY and GREY interior in it? It should have a tan at least...and to truly make it a premier edition..it should have a unique interior that MATCHES the exterior. Like the baseball glove colored interior from the Jeep Commander or the F-Series trucks. like this....

Copperhead 01-06-2007, 12:11 PM Hey Detriot, really like all the different editions of the HHR but give us one thats got a V6 or turbo charged & I'll run to get one. The only thing stopping me is the wait on one like this.
SoCalHHR 01-06-2007, 12:37 PM It's coming...probably this summer. :thumb:
Black Beauty 01-07-2007, 07:24 AM I like the color, sets the "Black Chrome" out a bit more than the Black Edition...I think I saw one on a lot yesterday, was driving and thought it was just a white. Mrs. B/B thought it was cream, so it may have been one...
Yesterday, I saw about (10) , seemed like every intersection , there was another one. But they were all "PLAIN JANES".
:D There`s only one Black Beauty...
Black Beauty 01-07-2007, 08:41 AM Ok , I was wrong, Mrs.B/B just got up, saw the pic in this thread, not what she saw... Sorry
Heck, I couldn`t tell one way or another... I do know Black ( pretty much ), It`s really kinda bad going through life and not seeing colors.. Oh Well, maybe next life...:D
HillsdaleHHR 01-18-2007, 02:34 PM Looks like the cappucinno color is not exclusive to the Premiere Edition. It is available as a color on the 2LT according to color choices now on chevy.com.

He's right!
Sorry for the picture size, but I couldn't scale it down for some reason.

Inframan 01-18-2007, 06:27 PM what would make it unique, would be a color available only for the premiere. Like the spring edition. I would just get that color. Why spend an extra thousand for trim pieces?
ymerej_mortsdnil 01-18-2007, 06:55 PM I'd like to see the color in person, anyone been to an Auto Show such as the Detroit show & seen it in person yet?
O6ChevyHHR 01-18-2007, 07:33 PM what did you think of it?
HHR Forever 01-18-2007, 07:34 PM I think it's a rather plain color. Kind of dull, really.
Stainless Steel would be an awesome color for the HHRs. It worked well on Deloreans! :thumb:
shaginwgn 01-20-2007, 11:14 PM here is actual pic of the Premiere Edition. I was at the NAIAS last thrusday. Sorry aint the best pic but i liked the two-tone leather better than exterior color it also had instead of black chrome side mirrors was the frost metallic color painted.(Panel is to the right in background)

shadowmom1 02-25-2007, 02:02 PM I thought it was going to be in the brown family, and was looking forward to it. Another white does nothing for me.

I can't wait to see the color in person, I think it will look HOT...
of course, I am a bit biased to white HHRs!!!
they really had that thing pimped out with accessories, I see the headrest monitors, door sills & roof rack cross rails...I can't figure out why they didn't bring it to the Chicago Auto Show!!!
O6ChevyHHR 02-25-2007, 03:07 PM looks like pearl White...
fast98ws6 02-27-2007, 09:45 PM i wonder if i can get the grill and door handles from the premiere edition from the parts department? time to go to the dealer tomorrow!
HillsdaleHHR 04-02-2007, 10:35 AM Here are some pics of the one I just looked at. This one was damaged in delivery. The gate came down and crushed the roof rack and bent the roof slightly. Suprised it didn't break the sunroof. The color is nice but I'm not understanding the roof rack is just black and not the black chrome like the door handles, grill, and rims:

Harpozep 04-02-2007, 01:42 PM Nice interior and spoiler:thumb:
I like the exterior as well. Looks like a winner. :one:
Too bad about the damage, I guess they'll repair it, but wouldn't we all prefer an unrepaired one?
HillsdaleHHR 04-02-2007, 01:45 PM The salesman said they were trying to get GM to buy it back. Even after repair they will have to disclose that it has been damaged. It was funny though because they were like "We could give you a REALLY good deal on it!" I simply pointed over to mine and said I already have one. Then they were checking out the grill I put on.
Snoopy 04-02-2007, 01:50 PM With this color on the Premium Edition, I think it provides a better "contrast" for what they call 'black chrome". Might be an acceptable choice IMO.
Parked next to a Fall Edition, saturday. My "misses" concurred with my evaluation of it.....not worth the extra money.....and I didn't even need to tell her my opinion.;) Black with alledged black chrome, just does not "stand out"....again, IMO.;)
HillsdaleHHR 04-02-2007, 01:53 PM The other thing I don't understand is that there is no special badging stating that its a special edition or anything. Maybe a little emblem above the HHR that says "Premium Edition" or something.
GDZHHR 04-02-2007, 01:53 PM The interior looks great! I agree with ya snoopy, the black chrome works much better on the lighter color.
Thanks for the pics hills!
Bertland 04-02-2007, 09:03 PM good pics, it look very nice, this Off White color give the HHR more a classy look.
As a Special Edition owner (Spring Edition), that would be a nice touch to place a small plate somewere on the dash that say « Special edition 1 Of 4.000»
I picked up my 2007 HHR Premier Editon last week. I am thrilled with this car. The retro look, the special color, and most of all the fun of driving this baby. I plan to add chrome tail lights covers, chrome gas tank cover, and some chrome door handle covers.

Snoopy 06-19-2007, 10:13 PM All do respect...in those pictures it looks like just white.....which is a good color in itself. But the Premiere is supposed to be special....show it as such;) ;) :D :thumb:
rcsart 06-19-2007, 10:56 PM Wow! Starbucks HHR Cappuccino Frost I wonder what a the price of a Venti will be? I can smell the pitch on the price hike now.
Premiere07 06-19-2007, 11:26 PM sorry they were supposed to be CLICKABLE tumbnails...

shadowmom1 06-25-2007, 08:39 AM I agree that it could have been done in a more interesting color. Most of us HHR lovers like the hotter colors.
HHR Gal 06-25-2007, 09:44 PM The premiere edition is only being released so far as 2LT's. We have not had any in stock in a 1LT. Cap Frost is only for premiere edition.
HillsdaleHHR 06-25-2007, 10:04 PM http://i119.photobucket.com/albums/o132/pats50fan/smilies/welcome4.gif to the site!!! You can order Cap Frost on a 2LT without the Premiere Pkg. Check out Chevy's website and build one :thumb:
914nickd 07-04-2007, 10:17 AM they should have 2 toned it

stangable 07-04-2007, 10:59 AM I was looking to see how many Premiere Editions were made. Now I've found my answer. Thank you :)
AndrewGS 07-13-2007, 11:48 AM The salesman said they were trying to get GM to buy it back. Even after repair they will have to disclose that it has been damaged. I hope they sold it. Buyback cars end up at a place like Schram's (http://www.schramauto.com/) and get chopped up. I hate knowing that a perfectly good car get's parted out. It would mean that other Premier Editions would be a little more scarce though.
betterof2evils4 07-13-2007, 12:12 PM Question for the Premiere Edition owners:
Since there aren't any emblems showing that it's a Premiere Edition, do you know the number of your car out of how many were made? Such as 10/4,000 or something?
car301 07-14-2007, 01:13 PM I would like to know that too. has GM built all 4000 of them yet?
MEAN HHR 07-18-2007, 03:07 AM My local dealership has two of them in their overflow lot, incase anyone in my area was looking for one.
They have a Black Beauty on the lot too.
HHR Gal 07-23-2007, 04:05 AM Production on all 2007 moels ended around June and varied depending on model. Some dealerships are still getting a couple 2007 vehicles but the 2008's should start to trickle in now. We got our first 2008 Corvette and a couple Cobalts and Impalas, no HHR's yet.
car301 08-30-2007, 01:55 PM Has any information on weather they built all 4000 2007 Premiere Editions and if there is way to tell what number in line a certain unit is? ( ie. 234 of 4000)
ChevyMgr 11-23-2007, 05:52 PM The paint looks much better up close! It has a real nice sparkle to it. I bought one for my son last June and there is only 360 miles on it. I may find an excuse to take it away from him and keep the miles low!:thumb:
ronk1030 04-14-2008, 01:35 AM Has any information on weather they built all 4000 2007 Premiere Editions and if there is way to tell what number in line a certain unit is? ( ie. 234 of 4000)
I have one of the Premiere Edition, and the last 6 numbers are, (I'm putting a x in some of the slots) 619,8XX.
The color to me is a super light brown. Sometimes it looks like a very light gray, until you park it by a gray car. When I was getting plates for the new car, she ask what color and I tried to explain to her what it was. We settled on cream.
I bought a 2001 Honda Goldwing motorcycle in 2001 and the vin number is less than a 1000. I have over 110,000 miles on the bike.
