View Full Version : HHR Caricature
en0oNmAI 01-11-2007, 05:33 PM This has been brought up before and one of the members (can't remember who) made an awesome pic that I loved which was this one.....
http://i41.photobucket.com/albums/e273/en0onmai/01-11-07_1141.jpg
Now I LOVE that pic. But decided to thow my own style into it and make my own. (Hope you don't mind!) I also saw the one that someone is selling on shirts but changed a few things around and combined what I thought were the best elements of each drawing I liked so well. I will be going this weekend to try and have a guy here make a shirt for me with an HHR in DSM and maybe adjust the wheels to look liike my own. Please let me know what ya'll think. Pics are bad cause they were taken from a camera phone.
Here's mine....

TkHHR 01-11-2007, 05:45 PM If I had a clean and flat image of this drawing I could make a decal out of it. Any interest?
courthousedeb 01-11-2007, 05:46 PM Looks good Jason...Nice Work. :thumb:
O6ChevyHHR 01-11-2007, 05:57 PM nice design!

I may end up taking you up on this.I am going to check around here for some prices cause I'm not all that patient! HEHE! I want somthing nice and big to cover my rear window though. Unless I transfer it and handcut it myself (which I hate doing) I could get it scanned and emailed.
SoCalHHR 01-11-2007, 06:27 PM Just threw this together real quick:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v354/wfstudios/HHRShirtDesign.jpg?t=1168557912
But if you like it, I could redraw the entire car graphic in Corel and add the text (or another text the majority decides on). We could them sell them in our online clothing store within days...it will take a few hours of work in Corel to get a useable image in vector format.
Whatcha think?

That should be titled HHR Raisin the Roof.
TkHHR 01-12-2007, 12:41 PM Never mind
O6ChevyHHR 01-12-2007, 01:04 PM looks good, keep up the good work!
SoCalHHR 01-12-2007, 01:04 PM Shouldn't it be done in white for application on a window?
PhxHHR 01-12-2007, 01:06 PM I'm sorry, but I can barely even tell that's an HHR - just my .02
O6ChevyHHR 01-12-2007, 01:06 PM YEA, but he is doing it on a shirt first.

Read his post again - he cut it out of vinyl "ready for application tape."
That means on a window...
Just making a suggestion - white for windows. :thumb:
PhxHHR 01-12-2007, 01:18 PM Yeah - what he said!
TkHHR 01-12-2007, 02:39 PM I totally agree that for a window it needs to be white.
PhxHHR 01-12-2007, 04:56 PM I whipped this out last night.
This is a Cartoon not a photo-realistic depiction or technical drawing of an HHR. Art is subjective and everyone has their own opinion just like they all have an A**Hole!
I was completely unaware that "art" could simply be "whipped out".
I now feel enlightened. Carry on, Leonardo...
TkHHR 01-12-2007, 05:38 PM Cool
PhxHHR 01-12-2007, 05:46 PM Sorry - I didn't mean to come across as an a-hole. It's just that most members post stuff to get feedback/input/opinionts/etc., and we all end up putting our 2 cents in. That being said, even after 50 people put their 2 cents in, you still only have a buck - which these days ain't much!
If you like it, do it - carry on because you're making it for yourself and your friends, not to please others.

O6ChevyHHR 01-12-2007, 10:24 PM my bad!
en0oNmAI 01-12-2007, 10:38 PM I really don't mean to sound like a pain; although, I have a couple things to say. First, I really appreciate the fact that people are into the drawing I did and want shirts, decals and such made. However, being that it is a drawing I did what kind of compensation would I be recieving for any profits made from said drawing? I do a little free-lance graphic design for people that have asked (ie banners, logos, cartoons, comic books, etc) and hope you understand I'm not just being a jerk but I am trying to make a living from things like this. As business men/women I'm sure you can all understand where I am coming from. I am constantly telling people about SoCalHHRs.com so that's free word of mouth advertising. I'm not asking a whole lot here guys but just that you ask my permission and try to work out some kind of deal with me before anything gets "put into production" so to speak. I'm sure I may end up getting flamed for this like "why put it on the web/forum then?" and comments like that, but as I mentioned before I am trying to earn a living from what little talent I posess.:D And would appreciate anything you all can do for a struggling artist.
SoCalHHR 01-12-2007, 11:44 PM We're not putting anything "into production" at all. Just trying to get you a t-shirt design completed. To have an accurate design with high print quality, it would take me 3-4 hours in Corel drawing "over" your design to get perfectly clean lines in a Vector format. I really don't have the time for that right now.
Our clothing store is run by CafePress, and they cover all stocking, ordering, production, printing, and shipping costs. All we make on clothing is a VERY slim margin - but it is advertising, after all!
I would never take your design and "run with it" Jason.
If you would like to sell me the design, shoot me a PM. :thumb:
Peace!
