Would the Eibach kit work with 225/35/20 tires? The Wheels are 5 x110, 7.5 wide, 42mm offset American racing Casino's. I want a 35 series tire for a little extra meat and I know the goldlines would def not work but would the Eibachs be ok??

You should definately be all right. Only rubbing you might experience is from really hard dips and bumps. You may to roll the rear fenders slightly to accomodate the larger tires. Its a very simple task that one can do in the driveway with nothing more than a WOODEN baseball bat!

I didn't go to 20's, but I did go to 18's 7.5 and that's a pretty wide tire. I'm real happy.

20s can ride very comfortable depending on the road conditions and tire combo

Not the size 20" you can mount on an HHR!

Here's what happens to them on "real" potholes:

If it were me, I'd think twice (or three times!), before going larger than 18's.

(Hey, I'm riding on 17's and loving it....)

Best of luck,

I have a 20x8 on my HHR. Not sure of the offset though. I am running a 235-30-r20 and the sidewalls angle in like /------\ on the wheels. Tucson streets are horrible with potholes and I avoid them and know my way around. Even with the very thin tires and being dropped on Goldlines I ride VERY smooth!

Im looking for !---! for tires on my rims and Im hoping a 235/35/30 will be nice and thick with no angles for a 7.5 inch rim.

I did read a how to on how to use the fender roller you can buy or rent. Looks fairly easily.

They will work as that's the sz. tire I have. But I tried Eibach & it did not drop the HHR at all, so I had to go with a different set up. Was strange it didn't as I have Eibach on my PT Cruiser and it drop it 1.5 in frt. 2.0 rear. Good luck and hope all works out.

Looks good Vinny, I like the way it sits. I hope mine looks like that when I get done with it. Just put the 20s on today.

Thanks! Can't wait to drive it, need to wash the rest of the salt off the roads...hopefully this weekend after all the rains

Then just have to dodge the potholes

vinny do your 20's rub when you do a sharp turn

Vinny

Nope...
No rubs at all so far...

I haven't flogged it on the twisties yet as in Ohio winter lasts until July sometimes-and now Noah is building an ark for the Midwest, I can't even get to my office on Monday-all and all it seems great.

With all that rubber, lowered and sway bar it grabs on pretty tight, now that being said, it's not my MINI Cooper S but for a box on wheels it seems to do real well. I'll update more when the asphalt gets warmer so the tires have something to grip to. One thing we do have quite a few nice twisties around here to give a great evaluation.

BTW, in my post w/pictures it states 235/35/20 they are 225s I do think the 235s would have fit but more or less I think that would have just sandblasted the sides more than do anything else.
