View Full Version : HHR SS suspension on regular HHR traketo 01-30-2007, 04:18 PM Do you guys thing we will be able to swap the regular HHR with the suspension of the HHR SS when it comes out?? upOnGamE 01-30-2007, 04:19 PM yea, but question is cost. O6ChevyHHR 01-30-2007, 06:27 PM You will most likely be able to but like UponGame said the price will probably be alot on money. But if you install it yourself you will save a good chuck of it. Snoopy 01-30-2007, 07:07 PM Do you guys thing we will be able to swap the regular HHR with the suspension of the HHR SS when it comes out?? Do you know something about the SS suspension or is your question an "if"?? Heard rumors of the drivetrain...haven't heard anything on the suspension except a rear sway bar.;) captain howdy 01-30-2007, 07:34 PM I'm sure if there is any change in the SS suspension it will just be sway bars, shocks, and springs. jx3 01-30-2007, 07:35 PM yea, but question is cost. Anything and Everything is availble for a price. betterof2evils4 01-30-2007, 08:56 PM I would be willing to bet that the suspension on the SS is going to be the sport suspension on the 2LT... just a thought... Snoopy 01-30-2007, 09:13 PM I would be willing to bet that the suspension on the SS is going to be the sport suspension on the 2LT... just a thought... You mean....AT least that, right.....if they don't design/install another upgrade for the "SS". The one that I saw, personally..... I only noticed a rear sway bar. Didn't bother to check anything else under there, and wasn't allowed under the hood. Not saying that's what they are going to do.....that's just what I saw.;) SoCalHHR 01-31-2007, 02:30 AM I would be willing to bet that the suspension on the SS is going to be the sport suspension on the 2LT... just a thought... No......I think it is going to be a bit more than that. :D "Another upgrade" for the SS may be on the way... O6ChevyHHR 01-31-2007, 06:22 PM it would most likely have a lower stance the the 2lt has. GDZHHR 01-31-2007, 06:59 PM it would most likely have a lower stance the the 2lt has. Why? HHR Forever 01-31-2007, 08:03 PM Why? Why not? Ever think Chevy may accualy be listening to the customer for the first time since 1972? Ever think a little lightbulb clicked on in the designer's head and thought of it? Ever think that since it might have such an upgraded sport suspenison that it might have softer springs which naturally make the car sit lower? (I assume.) Ever think I could be rambling on about crap I don't even want to know about? (It happens often!!) Just my :2cents:. eat_world 01-31-2007, 08:42 PM Well if you look not too far back (atleast not as far as 72) The 94-96 impala SS's sat lower (by about 2 inches) than the caprice. The SS was really nothing more than a trip package on the caprice. The SS was really nothing more than a trip package on the caprice. Good point. fastsuv 02-01-2007, 08:50 AM Prototype HHR SS models have been seen on the German Nurburgring track. This is considered the best test track in the world and used to compare relative track times to other vehicles (including those from other manufacturers). If they are serious about handling, then there will probably be a big difference in the components in the suspension. The 2LT has a "sporty" suspension, which usually means the components were selected to tilt the ride-quality/handling balance more toward handling. There is a big difference between a "sporty suspension" car and a suspension that actually handles well under hard use. Personally, I expect the SS to have different components (shocks, springs, control arms, etc.) but the same type of suspension layout (because its usually too expensive to change the type of designed-in suspension). If the SS doesn't handle much better than the 2LT I will be disappointed. Steve betterof2evils4 02-05-2007, 11:15 AM Don't get me wrong, I definitely HOPE they put more than the "sporty" suspension on the SS... I just don't expect much from Chevy as they do not always make the best decisions for marketing. I wonder if they'll fix the ride height so it sits more even rather than the ass end being raised a little higher than the front. Another hope of mine :D SICKS.OH 02-05-2007, 11:54 AM Don't get me wrong, I definitely HOPE they put more than the "sporty" suspension on the SS... Another hope of mine :D doubt it. my bet, springs (1.5in) shocks, and maybe a swap bar. 18's (may even be the cobalts rims). my guess is based on the ZQ8 suspension of S-10s O6ChevyHHR 02-05-2007, 03:32 PM 18s are a must on the SS, Im sure the ride will be better. |
