Howdy all! I'd like to announce a new business of mine and Bonnie's: the Shindig & HHR General Store (http://www.cafepress.com/shellknob)!:D

This started out to be a way to sell shirts for the Shindig in Shell Knob (http://shindiginshellknob.com/) and just grew to what it now is.

We are going to be offering a cartoon-style HHR shirt soon but we have several that we are selling now.

We also can do custom work. With your file we can create shirts, mouse-pads, mugs, even USPS stamps!!:thumb:

Here are a few samples of what we are offering now.

One question, it may seem stupid or anal, and it pertains to spelling. In the shirt "This is your brain when it sees a HHR", is this correct grammer? When I say it verbally, I say "This is your brain when it sees an HHR". The only example I can think of is like this: "I feel I make an honest days pay". Like I said, it may be me being anal so.............:p: Any English teachers here?

I pondered that myself and thought the rule was an before a vowel.

Oh well, if an angry mob comes banging at the door I guess we might have to adjust it! It's easy enough to fix if need be. Thanks for the input.:thumb:

Congrats on becoming a Supporting Vendor!!

Should be "an HHR".

Also, in the item with the family in front of the tv it should read "It's 10 o'clock. Do you know where your HHR is?". You're means you are.

The sample pic is wrong, the shirt is right though.

To hopefully end the grammer class.....:D

We use a before singular count-nouns that begin with consonants (a cow, a barn, a sheep); we use an before singular count-nouns that begin with vowels or vowel-like sounds (an apple, an urban blight, an open door). Words that begin with an h sound often require an a (as in a horse, a history book, a hotel), but if an h-word begins with an actual vowel sound, use an an (as in an hour, an honor).

Still got me confused.......maybe a good topic, or not, for another thread!:thumb:

Thanks for the input though!

Nope. it is "a HHR". With any acronym or short form abreviation to determine the correct use, read it as if it were spelled out...a heritage high roof, not an heritage high roof.

where as that is true, the phonetical spelling of "H" is pronounced "ˈāch" therefore it must be "an HHR"
Damn those pesky English classes
