Seeing as how grills seem to be such a popular topic lately I was wondering what everyones favorite one is and if you even plan on changing to a billet one? Of course my favorite is the Carriage Works one :one: and I plan on putting it on the first nice day that comes where I live. ;) (damn snow  )

Did you have to saw off the rest of the grill in order to keep the top part on? Or does it come like that. It looks different in a good way.

Yup, you have to cut up the stock grill.

I would love to but I have been working on it for like 5 hours. Not straight, I took time to eat and play with the kids and put them in bed and stuff. I will by this weekend.

I think that grille looks awsome, although my favorite is my old Weber gas grille. :p:

I think that one looks good Howdy. I'm waiting for a speed grill to come out, I like those a lot better than the billet.

I need to take a better shot. I have all of the ribs properly aligned now. It's not that had to install. I thought about doing a how to but I was in a hurry to put it on while I had light and decentent weather. The instructions that come from Carriage Works are pretty straight forward and clear. Anybody with any knowledge of working on their vehicle can put one on. The biggest thing is just making the first cut into the factory grille. Then there is no turning back. :D

Check out the thread below. This HHR was customized by a place called Sherrods. Maybe you could get one from them. :thumb:

Still undecided on which I like best. The more aftermarkets I see, the better the stock grill looks IMO. No offense to those that have them, but billet is getting played out so bad. And when I saw a stock billet looking grill on an Astro (granted it wasn't billet, but just had the look), Turned me even further away. Plus on the HHR, they never seem to be "even". Will have to find the right one to get rid of the classic 5 bar. That was the main theme of the '49. It is what hit you first.

I guess I'll leave mine stock. That's one of the things that attracted me to the HHR. I would like to find something for the lower grille besides the gutterguard.

Leaving it stock may be the best way to go. Everyone else is changing them out, so those who are stock will have rare grills
