Skatetheglobe 03-01-2006, 07:58 PM anybody know where to find it? captain howdy 03-01-2006, 08:00 PM anybody know where to find it? What, your VIN number? Jddrumman 03-01-2006, 08:46 PM I saw one on www.hhrclub.org. It'd be awesome if we could have one! Yeah, I belong to that club, but IMHO it wasn't worth the extra $$$ to become a so-called premium member just for their minimal benefits. :( Wish I could get my money back on that site! :( Live & learn... I guess? :red: captain howdy 03-01-2006, 08:49 PM I don't see why you need a VIN decoder for a new car anyways. It's cool on classic car websites but pointless for a new car. txsman2930 03-01-2006, 10:01 PM I don't see why you need a VIN decoder for a new car anyways. Well said. HHRXM 03-01-2006, 10:23 PM I'd like to know what month/day my vehicle was born, plus where it fell in the numbers built that year. That info may be easy to found if you special ordered your HHR, but for people like me that bought one off the dealers lot it seems harder to obtain that info. Maybe it's easy to find and I just don't know where to look. Skatetheglobe 03-01-2006, 11:40 PM I'd like to know what month/day my vehicle was born, plus where it fell in the numbers built that year. Jddrumman 03-02-2006, 01:17 AM I'd like to know what month/day my vehicle was born, plus where it fell in the numbers built that year. Maybe it's easy to find and I just don't know where to look. Since I belong (paid $$) to the HHR site that has the VIN decoder... I looked up my car's VIN # history and their decoder didn't tell me/list anything about my car that I didn't know already! (which sucked) I printed out the VIN decoder report for future reference... however I found/read a couple interesting "disclaimers" at the bottom of the sheet! Jddrumman 03-02-2006, 01:35 AM Here's what my printout lists at the bottom: (after it decoded my VIN # results) Note: This VIN decoder is programmed for Chevy HHR VIN decoding only, other vehicles will produce inaccurate info. The sequence number may not have started at zero, HHR owners are GUESSING it started at 500000. The sequence number may vary by model series: LS, LT1 or LT2 Without connecting to the manufacturer database, the VIN code itself cannot decipher: 1.) What color your HHR is 2.) If the series is a LT1 or LT2 3.) Automatic or Manual Transmission 4.) Any owner info or history For more comprehensive information, your dealer can print you a report OR you can purchase a report from a vehicle history reporting sevice. This decoder has limited function, all it does is decode the VIN characters with universal VIN deciphering. It does not connect to any General Motors database. The resulting information does not reveal a history report or any owner information. This information is provided for entertainment only, accuracy cannot be guaranteed. Sorry, but that's what it says... JD (hope this helps :D ) |
