Fear not those of us with the 2.2....there seems to be a lot more proformance options availble for us than the 2.4L. I am going to see how strong the stock stuff in the cobalt is and see what my options are...Looking to get into the 13s in the 1/4 mile.

Looking to get into the 13s in the 1/4 mile.

And then you woke up. You have a lot of work ahead of you. :D My advise would be sell the HHR and buy a Mustang or Charger if you want 13s in the 1/4. ;)

Got a 04 GTO for me, HHR is for the wiffy. I have a lot of people with built up LS1s and cobalts/cavs. I have the help...I just need to figure out the combo. Once I see what the stock stuff is cappable of handleing. Then get some sticky tires...

To even break into the 13's (at say 13.97), you'll need at least 225 FWHP, - AND a great reaction time! Not saying it's impossible, - but you'll have quite a bit of work ahead of you, both under the hood and mentally. Good luck!

RTs do not help you with a ET....you can sit at the line for 3 sec befor you go and it will not make your ET drop a bit....IF you mean 60ft time then yeah a good 60' will help a lot. in order to get a good 60' you need good traction and good throttle control.

And yeah I ment just breaking into the 13s....It will take a lot, I have no doubt of that. Thinking a dual No2 set up with cam and tune...and the standard intake and exhaust bolt ons....going for more of a show look than drag (wifes car and all) but I refuse to drive a show car with no go.

No way your going to do it without forced induction, nitrous, cams, tune, exhaust, pretty much everything. Small bolt ons and nitrous alone aren't going to cut it. The stock 2.2 gets just over 17 seconds in the 1/4 in the stock form in a Cobalt. Plus you have the weight and aerodynamics issues over the Cobalt so it probably runs mid to upper 17s in a HHR. You're talking about a car that weights around 3200 pounds and only has 143 horsepower.

First Test and Tune I can make it to will be in FEB. I will see what I run then and make a plan from there. That will also give me time to talk to the cobalt guys to see if anyone has blown up a engin yet.

"These parts are designed for off-road and racing applications..."

That about says it all...

I think most of the owners on this forum want parts that are street-legal and will not cause their vehicles to fail required emmisions testing.

Nice thought though!
