The plan is to meet at the McDonalds (2102 River Avenue) right outside of Cedar Point at 9 am. Leave at 9:30 am for Cedar Point Gates that open at 10 am. Midday lunch (2-ish) outside of the park so we can get a cruise in and then back to the park for the rest of the day. Park closes at 11 pm. There is a broad range of hotels (check www.sandusky.com (http://www.sandusky.com)) to choose from. However, if you are picky you want to reserve a room way ahead of time as Cedar Point is a popular Vacation Destination.

Ok. For those of you that have never been to Cedar Point here are a few tips to making the most out of your trip.

1. Wear comfortable shoes. You will be walking alot.
2. Wear comfortable clothes.
3. If you plan on riding any water rides be sure to have a change of clothes handy in your car.
4. Bring a fanny pack / hip pack. You will want it to put your keys, money, glasses (yes, you don't want these flying off on a coaster), etc.
5. Bring sunglasses and sunblock.
6. If you get motion sick or queezy stomach be sure to bring Dramamine.
7. Disposable cameras are best. You don't want to lose or bang your exspensive camera on rides.
8. Have cash. While ATM's are available you will be charged a fee.
9. Be ready to have some fun!!!

Here's the thought: The park opens at 10 am. All attendees meet at the McDonalds right outside of the park at 9 am. At 10 am we ride in. Maybe have a mid day lunch outside the park so we can get a cruise in and then head back to the park for the rest of the day.

Dang ... I would love to come to this, but I don't think my wife will allow us *two* Cedar Point trips in a year (we already have plans for early July and a hotel).

Just a reminder: If we have 15 people attending we can get a group rate on Cedar Point tickets at $31/person. That is a savings of $10.95/person. Tickets would have to be purchased in advance so I would need to collect all money by May 19 in order to get these tickets ordered in time! If we don't have 15 people attending and anyone still wants discounted tickets I can get them at Meijer Stores for $7 off. I would just need the money by June 2 in order to pick up the tickets in time. Otherwise, tickets at gate will be the standard price of $41.95.

Just checked and here's some other discounts: AAA insurance offers its members discounted tickect prices ($7 off). Tickets must be purchased at AAA office. Active or retired Military personnel and immediate (Spouse, children, parents, grandparents, grandchildren) family members can receive discounted tickets ($31/person at gate). Valid military I.D. required.

Oh that sucks. I will be moving at the beginning of June and have to get ready for the wedding June 16th. I'm thinking this is a no go for me

Starting to get some ideas on Lunch locations now for our mid-day cruise out of the park. Here are some that I have come up with.

TGIF's (somewhat of a Retro feel) Close in location (maybe too close for a cruise) to Cedar Point and is waterfront.

Damon's Also close in location to Cedar Point and waterfront. Said to have a killer view of the bay and of Cedar Point. Location allows more of a cruise.

Shifter's Bar & Grill (Attached to Harley Davidson Store/Dealer) Not as close in location and is more like a grill- sandwiches only.

Let me know what you guys think!!

June is my busiest month at work. If this was at the end of July or August I would so be there. We just got back yesterday from Castaway Bay waterpark at Cedar Point. It was the first road trip for the 07 white HHR and everything went good. We really liked the gas mileage we got. Way better than our MPV.

Iam a definate maybe for sure, that sounds like a blast. plus it will get me away from cincinnati.

Just saw some footage of the new rollercoaster "The Maverick" on the news and it looks pretty cool!!!

Was in the grocery store yesterday and noticed some salt water taffy. MMMMM can't wait to get some REAL GOOD salt water taffy from Cedar Point. :thumb:

Jus looked at the 10 day forecast for sandusky on the 9th syas showers hopefully that changes:(

1 week to go. I never listen to 10 day or even 7 day forecasts. Give me a 2 day and then maybe. Think positive :thumb: :thumb: Small showers aren't bad for Cedar Point really. It actually helps you get on rides faster too and you are already wet for the water rides ;)

We went to Put in Bay a couple years ago. Drove around the Island in a rented golf cart and spent about 4 hours there. Not alot to do but it was okay. Don't drink the water there. Seems alot of people have gotten sick after visiting there?!? This is directions from Sandusky to Put in Bay:

1: Start out going WEST on W PARK ST. <0.1 miles

2: Turn LEFT to stay on W PARK ST. <0.1 miles

3: W PARK ST becomes SOUTH ST. 0.1 miles

4: Turn RIGHT onto HAYES AVE / OH-4. 3.1 miles

its a lil town just out of sandusky its on the lake up there, they have a bunch of bars its pretty fun i went there before i could drink so im looking forward to goin there on friday night, they have a bar there that is supposed to be the longest bar in the world.

Okay, just to update.

Saturday June 9th.

Meet at the McDonalds (2102 River Avenue) right outside of Cedar Point at 9 am. Leave at 9:30 am for Cedar Point Gates that open at 10 am.

Leave Cedar Point at 1:30 pm for Damon's Grill Sandusky, 701 E. Water St. for mid-day lunch and door prizes. Cruise back to Cedar Point after. Park closes at 11 pm.
