View Full Version : Goodbye SoCal........

SoCalHHR

We have had an interesting week to say the least; several setbacks have caused us to rethink our business. After careful consideration, my wife and I have decided to cease operations. After Friday, March 9th; there will be no more SoCalHHR's.

I don't want to go into the details, except to say that sometimes even the best intentioned businesses just don't make it. We have made every effort to provide the best products, tested on real HHRs, at the best prices, with the fastest possible shipping and the best customer service possible - but sometimes even that doesn't cut it.

The SoCalHHR's website will remain open the rest of this week; we have removed many of the items - leaving up only what we have in stock. Prices have been reduced drastically to clear everything out. These prices are only good on the remaining stock - when it's gone, it's gone, so hurry. (*All products still hold warranty support from the manufacturers.) Once we close the site down, any remaining stock will be sold off in our eBay store, so send anyone needing parts there for the final dregs.

Most importantly, I would like to thank EVERY ONE of our fantastic customers for their support and kind emails/phone calls. You folks have made running this business a treat! I will miss talking with many of you about modding your HHRs, but we feel this is what we have to do at this time.

Again, I apologize to our many loyal customers, we wish things would not have gone in this direction, but sometimes they do. Please refrain from calling me to talk about it - I'm busy making some new decisions at this time.

With thanks for the past year,

Snoopy

Sorry to hear your decision, Mike. You are a good man and an honest supplier. Will you be sticking around in the forum????

You will be greatly missed as a supplier.

As a person and a HHR owner I hope that we don't have to miss you and that you will still be among us. I know the pain you must be feeling right now as Bonnie and I had to bite the bullet and close a business of ours after three years. Like yours everyone liked our business and the service we offered, we just were not able to build a large enough client base. Regardless of why you are having to shut down, I can say very honestly that, for product, knowledge, and personal service few could match you.

I know there were more than a few times when I called you for advice and took all the time I needed to help. Even when it was about something I wasn't buying from you.

I know that whatever you do next it will be done right.:one:

:bye: Sorry to hear this Mike. You will be missed not only as a vendor but as someone who helps people out. Hope everything works out for you and your family. Dont be a stranger and at least stop by to say hello.

Mike, thanks for everything. I know it is a hard decision, but I'm happy you made it early. These small businesses have a way of steering your life in ways you sometimes don't want. Better to nip it early if this is the case.
You did a bang up job and many of us REALLY appreciate all your work and support for the vehicles.
Are ya still going to drive an HHR?

And many thanks for your how-to tutorials on your website. We will miss them. Perhaps some of them could be sticked/posted here ? I know I learned a lot from seeing your photos and descriptions. Your site was very helpful and will be dearly missed in this community.
Best wishes in future endeavors Mike.
Peace

Mike, I wish the best for you in your future endeavors. A decision like this couldn't have been an easy on, but you've got to do what's best for you and your's. Please don't be a stranger, you have a great deal of knowledge and are well respected, not only as a vendor, but as a fellow HHR owner and a friend to many here. You will be sorely missed.

BTW.....you wouldn't happen to have a ceramic coated CGS hiding in a corner somewhere?

Man that sucks, but I understand. About 10 years ago, I closed my business that I had for 15 years. It was like losing part of the family. BUT, things got better. I understand completely.............

Kind of sad, my first order for my second HHR is both my first and last SoCal purchase. (Glad you still have the Hotrod chrome pieces!) While I didn't purchase much from you, I'm still sorry to see you go, and wish you the best in any future endeavors. Not to mention, hoping that someone else will pick up the slack created.

Mike I am truly sorry that your business did not go the way you wanted. Without doubt I would rank you at the top for best in customer service, price and support. Its a shame I did not have the money to buy what I would have liked to from you, did manage to get the stubby. No matter what you chose to do from this point on , you are always welcome here IMO. Please stay in touch as to what you are doing and how things are going, maybe we can give back some of the support you offered free of charge to all of us.. I wish you and yours the Best and hope and pray that all will work out even better for you..

Sorry it didn't work out, man. Maybe if Chevy had done a little more marketing on the car things may have worked out better. You're a class act, even when people are accusing you of being a "butt-dyno". Keep the faith, ride low, and ride slow...can't wait to see the panel.

Wow, that's bad news for those of us who mod their HHRs:( . I bought the sway bar and intake from you and the shipping was unbelievably fast. In addition to great customer service, your automotive knowledge was a huge plus:thumb: . There are vendors that will sell anything to make a buck, but I truly believe that you only sold products that you were convinced worked well.

As a footnote, its people like you that are willing to go out on a limb to start a small business that drive a large portion of our economy. Most businessmen that are now successful will relate stories of previous businesses that they owned that didn't work out. With your emphasis on honest customer service, I'm sure that any future enterprises will be likely successful.

Best of Luck
Steve

I've always felt you were one of the cornerstones of our Forum and now this. But I guess you've gotta do what you've gotta do sometimes, so I just want to wish you and your Family all the best in any future endeavors! Al :thumb:
