I understand snow, ice, or frost making the front windows not operate. This morning it was 25 degrees here, there was no visible frost, neither front window would go down. The rear ones both worked. I tried the button every few minutes for over 20 minutes, finally (after warmup?) they opened. You could hear the motors trying to work. Could the rubber be too tight when cold? Could the motor just be too weak? Has anyone experienced this issue? Does anyone know a work around? It would be tough to use a drive thru during this time.

I've had this happen before.

If the windows are wet when you roll them up and then it gets really cold, the window glass will freeze to the window liner material.

I had a Datsun (Nissan) pickup that had a problem with the door locks freezing in the cold weather... turned out to be the sound deadening material they sprayed inside the door got all over the mechanism and turned into a rock when it was cold out. Carbeuretor cleaner did wonders for that one...

Thanks for the thread lead. I will try the silicone trick. No rain or moisture seemed involved this morning at all and the rears both worked fine. It almost had to be tight rubber...not necessarly a bad thing.

Looks like there is a felt material all around the inside area of the rubber where it contacts the glass. Won't the silicone leave streaks all over the glass if it gets on the non rubber felt material?

lucky you that yours was unfrozen in 20 mins the first time it happened it was abt 1 hour the second time was 40 mins
