Snoopy 03-19-2007, 01:20 AM Really like the wheels, Mitzkity. Looks excellent with the cars theme. Guess I never noticed before.:thumb:
Harpozep 03-19-2007, 01:54 AM WOW! You are taking me back to a time long ago... and a place I've never really been, California! Well, Ok I have gone to the San Diego Comic Con five years in a row, but always worked the Convention and NEVER saw the beach!
So the California I , and I'm sure many others know is through the movies. And your HHR looks the part of a wondrous California cruisin' beach craft. Way cool:bow: :one: :thumb:
Those whitewalls and rims work so well. I would not have thought it, but there they are working in perfect harmony. :thumb:
I'd like to do that to a panel version. Murals on the side and such.....more dreaming.
Well as an East coast girl once sang.."Dreaming is free....."
Does the visor cut down on vision any more than the windshield already does? I already open my sunroof for looking at a lot of stoplights.
Thanks for the pictures. We want more!!! If there is a vote on the submissions, you have mine!
Behave,
Robert
HonestBlues 03-19-2007, 04:51 AM Surf's up and so is your HHR. Love it!!
Black Beauty 03-19-2007, 05:45 AM Sweeeeeeet.

TeverHHR 03-19-2007, 08:54 AM I have to tell you, I am not one for woodies, sunvisors or eyelids, but you have pulled it off perfectly. Nice Ride. The wheels and whitewalls compliment it very well.

Harpozep 03-19-2007, 03:21 PM Cheri, is Mitzi's top grill painted bluish or is that just the lighting?
The lower grill chrome looks regular, so I'm guessing some coloring has been done to the top grill?
Agin, cool ride!:thumb: :thumb:
captain howdy 03-19-2007, 06:50 PM I wasn't too into the old school look or woodgrain kits but damn your ride is hot! You got my vote too! :thumb:

catzcradle 03-20-2007, 12:15 PM It was quite the setting that we were able to get the wheels installed at a park, by a lake :)

courthousedeb 03-20-2007, 10:43 PM Very sharp looking HHR Mitzkity...it was before and the wheel and tire combo just made it better than before. :thumb:

Keep on modding!:thumb: :one:
mikemann 04-10-2007, 04:53 AM What do you think of the new tires and rims? Obviously they look great, but hows the ride? Are the whitewalls proving to be hard to clean?
I really would like to do this. Surprised no one else has. I suppose it's not very cost prohibitive?
Looks great. Congrats on the feature.

I'll answer since Mitz is busy painting with the grand-daughter.
the tires themselves aren't as bad to keep clean as I thought. Some simple green the first time with a toothbrush got all the blue that was on it off, now I just use wheel quick detailer on the whitewalls once a week when I wipe off the wheels.
The tires are a tad oversized with some good side-walls and rides if anything a bit smoother on the freeway, more cushion I'd call it, yet still seems to corner similiarly to the stocks.
Cost was actually not much difference from what I paid for the 20" VCT's and tires I put on my magnum, but more in reverse, with tires costing more.
4 whitewalls ran us about $900, and the rims I believe were $520 +250 for the paint match centers. If you went all chrome, they'd be a tad less. Wheels are "Wheels Vintique" brand that are pretty much made to order. Can't remember the tire brand offhand, but can get that info if you need.
Motormike 04-12-2007, 02:41 PM Like the wheels. Where did you get them. MIKE
mitzkity 04-12-2007, 04:55 PM See above - Wheelvintiques.com makes them, one set at a time, since they are kind of rare and can be ordered different ways. Try this link and look at the SMOOTHIES...

Oh, the tires were DAYTONS, whatever that means.
HillsdaleHHR 04-12-2007, 05:20 PM Oh, the tires were DAYTONS, whatever that means.
That means they were good :thumb: Of course I'm biased. Check my profile, you'll understand.

Todd, that is SOOO cool. Welcome to the club and be sure to look around the forum at all the good stuff here - post photos of those great wheels on your blackie on the BLACK HHR gallery. I've started a thread about a get together at Ricky and Ronnies in May so you can find it in the regional forums. Just ask if you need help in getting around here. This is a great group of people!
