View Full Version : Issues
mrfixit66 03-27-2007, 12:42 PM :steering: My HHR is A good car but it has issues. the dome light was replaced two times, the shifter was replaced, and the rotors had to be turned. Thats the things that have been fixed. The things that they have not or can not find or fix are noise in the suspension, darty funny acting steering and the right front tire wearing and dipping. What can I do?
GDZHHR 03-27-2007, 01:17 PM If all of these issues have been addresed by your dealer and they were unable to help, I'd say you may want to try another dealer. Not a knock against your dealer, just a different set of eyes/ears can make a difference.

Welcome mrfixit!! Glad to see you got your comments and questions up on the boards.:thumb:
Sorry not to be able to help with your issues, but you're sure to get a lot of help here.
mrfixit66 03-27-2007, 01:54 PM I bought my HHR used with 29000miles. I started telling them of all the issues then, now the warranty is gone and I have no paper work from them on what they did or what I reported to them.
I may need to find another shop to take it to, I just hate gitting the run around. Thanks for your input.

Interesting scenario......
Are you saying you purchased the vehicle from a Chevrolet Dealer ?? Did your "Bill of Sale" indicate anything like "as is" or anything in regard to warranty? Also, you had returned it TO THEM for complaints/issues and they had "attempted to repair" it and made NO paperwork???
oneton 03-27-2007, 02:18 PM I think that we need more info. on where he got it and has he want 7k & now out of 3/36 warrt.
also what is the hist.of this car?
GDZHHR 03-27-2007, 02:20 PM yup, it's all in the details.......
mrfixit66 03-27-2007, 02:32 PM Yes I purchased it fron a Chevy Dealer, with what was left on the warraty. The dealer did the light under warranty. They checked all the other stuff under warranty but said they saw nothing wrong. After the warranty was out they turned the rotors and charged me. They have never gave me any paper work for any repairs, they say its in the system. Supposedly this was some kind of program rental car that had never had any damage.
oneton 03-27-2007, 02:39 PM Is it a auto trans with out remote start if it is it was a rental. What is the tire wear, look that could be the steering feel funny
get the vin. and have them look up the history of this car
mrfixit66 03-27-2007, 02:47 PM Auto trans, no remote start. The right front tire got slick fast and had dipping in the sides of the tread. I had the tires changed and the steering in not better. The car seams to wounder around untill you get over 65mph, the faster it goesthe better it drives. At times I think power is only going to one wheel.
Snoopy 03-27-2007, 03:03 PM I would suggest purchasing a vehicle history report from Carfax, and/or the like. You will use the VIN for identification. You will probably be surprised.
But you should also get copies of the previous service orders...if they will give them to you.
I had a similar situation with an Olds dealer. Had severe tire wear and a "shimmy" at 60-70 mph. Went through 14 tires in 23,000 miles. The last several visits to the dealer were not "recorded" because I THOUGHT I could trust them (first name basis with the GM, SM, and Front End & Suspension Supervisor). It became apparent the problem was not be resolved, so I was discussing the issue with a Olds Customer Service Supervisor, on the phone, and discovered the last 5 visits were not recorded. A VERY SERIOUS AND HEAVY discussion led to some serious charges and ultimately a change of service to a Cadillac dealer, who resolved the tire wear and front end shimmy (with support from some GM engineering people).
Good luck...sounds like you have a real problem (not trying to be a bummer, here).
mrfixit66 03-27-2007, 03:14 PM Thanks, I had a run in with a GMC dealer like that on my 05 GMC4x4.
Tire noise when turning and bad tire wear. They also had to reprogram it afew times because it would not take the gas and go when I wanted it to.
I ended up trading the truck.
