My Hhr[has 30000 Miles On It]

I'm guessing you got an extrta 0 in there! otherwise i'd say 30,000 miles is a LONG way before the first change.

Can't help ya with part 3's but I'd stay with 5/30.

There is a great thread HERE (http://chevyhhr.net/forums/showthread.php?t=4778) that will talk about the many different types of filters and provides Makes and Part #'s.

There is also a thread HERE (http://chevyhhr.net/forums/showthread.php?t=278) with a ton of opinions on oil as well.

I personally use Mobil 1 Synthetic 5W30 and have the dealer change it. I would venture to guess they use an AC Delco filter. I supply the oil and they change it and provide the filter for $20.

I assume that is $20 total cost, not $20 for the oil filter.

I'd like to have my dealer change the oil to synthetic oil, and although I have never had a problem with them, I don't know if I can trust the oil change people to actually put it in. We are not allowed to watch the oil change being done at the back part of the shop, so who knows if it's actually being put in.

The $20 is for changing the oil, providing the filter and doing the check that they normally do when car is in for service and tax. The labor is $13 and the filter around $6.00 and they return whatever oil they don't use in the car. I take them one of the 5 gallon jugs from Walmart which is a tad over $20.

We've got plenty of Chevrolet dealers in the Denver Metro area and if I thought they weren't doing it, they know I'd take it somewhere else. Besides...the first couple times my boyfriend checked it and said it was all good, so I'm a happy camper.

Been using Royal Purple 5w30 for a while now. Love it! I always get my filters from the dealer for cost thanks to a "hook-up"
