I'm going to Californicate some time in May, to check on the Black Chrome and Special Paint "thingies' that I talked with Jason about. Anyone wants to join...they're welcome. Will be either the first looooong weekend or the 3rd looooong weekend.

No out of state trios for us this time. With a kid getting ready to grad. from high school and family trip planed in June we are keeping spending at a min till after that is done.
We are open to other ideas local. Maybe we should invade a PT club

The 4th or 12th works for us. 19th works but rather not as that is the weekend after my bday and I may not be up in time to drive anyplace
4th we have both boys LAnce was upset he missed the last one, but we can go without him if needed.

And 26th also out for us.

Anyone else care to chime in? Also should we go north or south?

en0oNmAI

4th sounds good.. direction doesnt matter.. south is close to me! LOL!

dbarberaz
04-28-2007, 01:11 AM
Well I guess we need to pick north or south.

South we can do to Tombstone any good photo ops down that way?

North well we know what driving up north is like so lots of photo ops.
If we go this way do we take the route Retro has suggested?

I am open, but think about this, what will the temps be down south in a week?? high 90s maybe 100?

North we know cool

No matter what we need to pick a place in the next day or so.

Road trip time    time to "bump" the system

The trip to Jerome sounds good, we use to take that route every year when we'd go up to Youngs Farm to the Pumpkin Festival, and then keep going on to Jerome and on through Sedona and Oak Creek and up to Flagstaff.

We're working the weekend of May 4th though.

Okay folks, please enlighten us new folks. When you get together for an outing, do you all meet somewhere for breakfast, and go on from there, or do you have breakfast and then meet somewhere?

If you meet for breakfast, has anyone ever had breakfast at Byler's Amish Kitchen in Black Canyon City? Simple little place, but great home cooked food. It's just a few miles north of the Rock Springs Cafe.

Most of the times, we meet up at an easy to find place, chat for a few minutes then hit the road. Once we get there or on the way, and depending on the time we have some food.
Only guessing but based on where we may be going may just eat at lunch time.
I think Retro said something about meeting by a starbucks :thumb:
Most of the time, since we have kids with us we find them before leaving

I mentioned to dbarberaz that we could meet at Carefree Hwy and I-17. There is an Albertson's shopping center with a McDonalds, It's a Grind Coffe house, and a Starbucks in the Albertsons. Even a gas station if anyone needs to fill up... however I highly recommend stopping at some other station, it's a 4 sons gas station and they tend to be higher priced than everyone!

Jerome is about 30 minutes north of Prescott. The 89A is a very curvy road, with amazing scenerey. At one point in time on the road, the lead car will actually be facing the last car! Lot's of great pic opportunities!

OK so Sat 12th meet at the Starbucks, Retro you will need to let us know where the Starbucks is located.

Now all we need is a meet up time and headcount

If we are going to have lunch in Jerome.. I suggest meeting between 9 & 10:00. Bunch of really great places to eat.. like the Mile High

Starbucks.. take I-17 North to Carefree Hwy. Exit Carefree and go Right. On the left side of the road there is an Albertson's shopping center, Starbucks is inside.. C-ya in the parking lot!

As long as my HHR comes back from the dealer ok i'll definately be there. Took it in for the trans, my second gear synchro was shot and wouldn't go into gear without a harsh GRIIIIND sound. Ouchie!

Yup its official.. The trans is being replaced and parts wont be in until friday (if im lucky) and should be back on the road sometime late next week... this SUCKS!

I even suggested taking a trans from a HHR on the lot and fitting it to mine. They said they dont order or carry a manual trans unless its Special Ordered! WTF! No one likes a manny-tranny anymore!
