Actually, I never listen to radio...but you know what I mean. We got the Scosche dash kits in stock this week, and I finally had some time to work on my own car! It goes in nice and clean:

The Pioneer 8600 head sounds great (50w x 4), and coupled with the 300-watt sub amp it gives more than enough volume for the HHR. It has some really nice full-motion video graphics capabilities; so I "customized" it a little. Here's a short video clip:

Lots of fun! :thumb:

Nice! That kit looks really clean but the only thing I dont like is the color.I was thinking the surrounding pieces could be painted or maybe covered with vinyl so it all matched.Do you have any plans for this or are you just gonna leave it how it is.Nice video thats a dope head unit.

The color and texture would bother me also. I would have to sand it smooth and paint it. Did you upgrade the front door speakers and the tweeters at the same time or are you still using the factory fronts for the time being?

I'm sure you can track down some paint and make it match...if you're really that anal about it. ;) That is the color of the Scosche kits and they're sticking to it. In reality, it makes a nice contrast to the various shades inside the HHR. Painting is always an option for anyone.
I haven't had time to change out my front door speaks yet, but they are also going to be Pioneers (their high-end component series). Just the 8600 head makes a world of difference in the sound. It has a 13-band EQ, highpass and lowpasses for the subs, highpasses for the doors, and a full range of on-the-fly adjustment for the subs while driving (it had a nice remote too!) I now have my subs tuned to 63hz for solid, tight, and hard-hitting bass. I don't like "boomy' overtones in my audio.

I'm not being anal. :p: It's my OCD kicking in. ;) :D

Thanks Nate! I'm just so happy to have my system installed now, I could care less if the kit was Grabber Green! :D

There is one thing I bet you're glad is gone. The loud blinker noise coming through the drivers side speakers. ;) That drives me nuts!

Good Job Socal. Do you all remember the Famous Henry T. Ford quote. "You can have any color you want as long as it's black"

Henry was a Genius. All cars should be black.

My amp is installed in the tray underneath the rear floor shelf. It's wired direct to the battery terminal with 8ga wire and a fuse/disconnect setup for when I need to get to the spare. 16ft. of Monster RCA lines run from the head unit back to the amp along the driver side sill plates and back into the sunken panel.
I loved wiring up the HHR - it was a very easy vehicle to work on! :thumb:
