Has anyone experienced problems with their power seat? Do you know of any service bulletins or recalls on the seats? Mine was working fine and now it won't tilt. It only moves up and down and forward and backwards. This really sucks since I'm on travelling about 1200 miles this weekend.
Any suggestions?

I'm assuming you are talking about the manually adjustable reclining seatback.
Does the tilt lever on the side of the seat disengage properly?
Perhaps lift the lever and attempt to rock the seatback back and forth. It may simply be stuck.

I'm guessing "sandy" is speaking about the tilt of the seat cushion. It's suppose to adjust as well.....thigh support, up/down....butt support, up/down (6-way power seat). Could be wrong.

You're right Snoopy. Actually, Chevy calls it an 8-way power seat. I haven't figured out what the other two adjustments are except possibly the tilt of the back or the lumbar support. Anyway, the seat in my minivan would encounter this problem when something rolled under it. But, the seat in the HHR has a covering in the front so nothing can roll under it. It won't tilt either up or down in the front. It only moves when the back moves simultaneously.
Guess I'll visit the dealer!

But things can get under the seat from behind. I know, quite a bit of junk occupies this space under the front seats of mine.

You were right, Jay! A hard plastic CD case was under there. But logic would tell you that it would obstruct the the rear tilt not the front. Only wish I had found it before I drove 1200 miles last weekend.

Did you know about the heater vent under the seat? Unfortunately, I seldom have anyone in the rear but it's nice to know warm air is moved back there. I guess I really should keep the back floor space clear and leave the seat up so this warm air will circulate throughout the car.
I wonder how helpful it is for air conditioning!

Sounds as if it might have slid down from the side, next to center console (if that's what you want to call it). I'm constantly pulling the jewel boxes from under my seat.
