Is anyone having problems with the chrome trim (front grill, rear gate handle, emblems,...) accumulating black spots? It almost looks like the start of rust, but I do not think it is rust because it is accumulating on chrome plated "plastic" parts. I live in the salt belt, and have noticed the black spots on the chrome during my 2nd winter driving season. The black spots can be removed with Turtle Wax chrome polish, but it is very difficult and time consuming. I am debating on whether or not to have the dealer replace all the chrome on the exterior of vehicle (except the mirrors and luggage rack which seem to be OK).
Any thoughts, comments,...? I appreciate your feedback.
Thank you

Sounds like road grime or just dirt your picking up somewhere.
they can't rust and if they were pitting, you wouldn't be able to clean it off.

I've got the same problem on my HHR & the Blue MAXX. :cussing: Polishing compound got rid of some of them but it looks like it's getting under the crome and maybe exposing the copper base plating. I have it even on the chrome bar on the back of the MAXX. This sucks BIG TIME!!!!
