Does anyone know anything about a dual exaust kit for the HHR? whether theres one available yet or possibly one in the works? I stubled across somthing from magnaflow but could'nt find out much about it so im not sure it really exists! Well let me know bcuz this is high on my list of to do's. :D

For a 4 cylinder engine.. a single exhaust should be fine..

I really don't want a true dual exhaust setup, what I'm looking for is a cat back system with a single inlet and dual outlets so id have two tips rear exiting instead of the one (mainly for appearance), and something that sound good also.

Do they even make a true dual exhaust for any 4 cylinder or are they all Y-pipe set ups? I have never been into 4 cylinders untill my HHR. I dont see them spliting the header into two pieces and then running them through an X-pipe or H-pipe. It doesn't make sence. :confused:

I believe they are all y pipe setups, but all I'm looking for is a muffler with a single inlet and dual outlets( provided it sounds good on an hhr) and id have it custom installed so that id have the two tips rear exiting( which probably means i have to have the bumper cover cut on the other side to accommodate the second tip), at least that's the idea. Man, the things we do to make a car look and perform the way we want! Hopefully a kit will become available before i get too restless :D. Maybe when adamlowery gets his soudclip up it'll aid me in my decision.

I'd like to dual also.It just gives it something extra.

I have seen y exhaust for 6 cylinders (Datsun Z). But keep in mind that it means the extra weight and routing of 2 complete exhaust pipes. And the diameters would be smaller for each. I believe one large pipe into a good muffler with a single outlet would give the most performance and least weight. Look wise, 2 pipes like in the photo are nice. But, how to run that second pipe from the muffler? Then again, does anybody remember the side pipe conversion for the VW Beetle? It took the exhaust from the engine in the rear up to the front of the car, then to the sides for the chrome pipes.

That's how I had it on my 6 cylinder Mustang but the chassis is meant for dual exhaust so It was an easy bolt on kit. After the cats at the factory Y I had to join another Y creating a fake X. I also had to put the mounting brackets on the passenger side because they only put them on both sides if you have a GT. Of course I had to swap my bumper for a GT bumper so I had exhaust cut outs for the pipes.
