Hey guys,

I know that i am a newbie, but i have some background with a company in Canada called Powertech Imports. I emailed Jamie, the owner if im not mistaking, and asked him if he would hook us up. Here is the email i sent, and the email i got back.

Sent to Jamie -
Jamie or who it may concern:

I was wondering if you had any interest in the Chevy HHR. I was a member of www.b15sentra.net, username jaydogg, and I have since moved from my sentra into a 06 HHR. I’m a member of www.chevyhhr.net now and we need some vendors and we need some people to help us develop some parts for the HHR. The HHR has 2 different types of engines, the 2.2 and the 2.4 ecotecs. I know that they exhaust are the same for both cars and magnaflow is in the process of releasing their catback. As for Cold Air Intakes AEM is prototyping one for the 2.4 but there is no word on the 2.2, there is speculation that the 2.4 will fit on the 2.2, but the intake isn’t out yet for us to test. We as a community would love to have support for both engine types. Any type of help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your time,

Jason M. Cornelius

The only thing that we have the problem with is getting a vehicle to proto off. You name it I can build it and with enough interest I can even rent the vehicle and do the work. Find out what parts are wanted and I can start on one thing at a time. Do you have more info on the Vehicle??

Jamie

So here is our chance to get some parts. Jamie is the man when it comes to turbos, exhaust, cai, etc. so lets see what we can come up with. Me personally i want a CAI and Cat-back. here is his website http://powertechperformance.com/. let me know what you want, and lets see what he can do.

I want some LED wiper squirters, maybe some under body neon, stickers lots of stickers, spoilers the bigger the better, high flow muffler bearings would be awesome. Lets see what else, can he do performance blinker fluid? Maybe NAWS, but I want 2 of them, the big ones, then I can go out in the desert and win race wars with my 18 sec ride. I know a 5 inch exhaust tip that whistles like a turbo and lights up. If I think of anything else I'll let you know. Come on guys lets get the ball rolling on this.

I want parts from a well known American company. :p: I especialy want my parts from a company that doesn't specialize in Japanese imports. ;) Japanese imports are the enemy.

I thought of a couple more. Those fake inter-cooler thingies are sweet, and the electric blow off valves, chrome air intake thats gotta be worth like 50 hp, type R or SS emblems, maybe a tornado type device for the throttle body, light weight racing hub caps. I'll have to talk to my race crew and see if I can come up with some other stuff.

You forgot the miracle Ebay performance module thats good for like 50 HP for $20. :D

I vote for "Muffler bearings"... kinda like "lefthanded smoke shifters" for Boy Scout campfires!

Oh yeah... that eBay module is wicked cool too!

K I just talked to some of my boyz in my crew. We would also like to see a free flow flux capacitor, a cheaper version of the ebay performance module 20 bucks is to much for some of us racers to spend, a rear diffuser and front splitter to help keep the rear end on the ground, big chrome muffler the louder the better as long as its loud and chrome it should be good for some power. Chrome wipers, and the conversion kit for just one wiper to save some weight.

How about one titanium wiper! That should save some weight! :D

What difference does it make if the parts are made in Canada. My last Chevy was built in Canada and the HHR is built in Effin Mexico.

Nothing against Canada, my Mustangs engine was built in Windsor, Ontario. But how many big performance companies can you think of that are based out of Canada?

See is people like you ass holes that really piss me off. I go out of my way to help a community, not just a few people. When you guys are *****ing and complaining about nobody making performance parts or any aftermarket for your cars. I know jamie and he has done some very wonderful things for Nissan Sentra Spec-V's, that werent getting much support, Srt-4's, etc. He knows what he is doing when it comes to performance on cars and he is willing to step up and make us damn near anything we want. For example on the exhaust side, he could make a cat-back with any muffler we could want on it. I dont want a fart can on my HHR, i want something that is pretty close to stock but i can get a nice look and performance gains. Jamie also has no problems shipping parts from Canada down to the USA. He is an affordable company that is just as big as a gear head as we are. If there is no interest then you guys are only shooting yourselves in the foot. Keep shooting down companies and see how many come out with parts for both engine sizes.

So obviously you dont care if your car has imported parts on it aslong as the company using them is American.Does that mean if you bought performance parts from canada and had an American company install them it would be cool with you?Seems like a double standard to me.

I believe it is assembled in Mexico.....most of the parts are made elsewhere..the U.S. I believe, but it's early and I have had only one coffee..*I wonder if Juan Valdez would trade his trusty mule for an HHR* :p:

You just confused the hell out of me. GM is an American company, I support American compaines, I work for GM so yes I supprt them. I don't care where the part is made the only person installing it is going to be me. jaydogg didnt mean to upset you carry on with making your 18 sec HHR into a quarter mile warrior.

OK let me get this straight.
You support American companies because you work for GM, but you also support other countries companies aslong as you install the parts yourself.?.

So what are you saying to me cause I'm pretty sure I was backing Jaydogg.?.

What is so hard to understand about this?? I basically work for GM, I support GM and American companies. If an aftermarket company offers a superior product and they happen to be from out of the country then I use the better product. If the only differce between 2 products is where it is made I'll go with the American based product.

If you are so pro american about your purchases, then you would never look at any products that are made otherwise!! Only if an american company does not make a part you are looking for would you consider going outside the US looking for it.

Holy Shit this is like arguing with a bunch of 3rd graders. Read my previous post, Howdy understands it why the hell can't the rest of you. One last time time I SUPPORT AMERICAN COMPANIES, HOWEVER IF THE AMERICAN MADE PRODUCT IS NOT WHAT I'M LOOKING FOR THEN I'LL LOOK ELSEWHERE!!!!!!! Nowhere in any of my posts did I ever say I buy only American, I said I support American companies, huge difference between the two.

I agree 100%!!

I prefer American made items, but if a company from another country is building something I want and no American company is or if the foreign part is superior, I WILL BUY THE FOREIGN PART.

Yup, same here. In this day and age there is no way you could possibly by only American products. ;) I try my hardest to keep my money here in the US rather than it going to some other county but sometimes another country will make a better product or there will be no American companies offering what I want. I think everyone should do the same. Free trade is a good thing but it has gotten out of controll.
