Harpozep 05-03-2007, 02:44 AM I caught a glimpse, but the pics are loading slowly.
You like the open top etc of the Jeep, eh. Cool enough.
Too bad you have to sell that ole HHr though, you sure made the scene with that one!
Hopefully the Jeep project will not yield as much frustration since so much has been made for them since they have been around for so long. If I lived in your climate, I'd do a lot of car modding too!
Keep having fun, and thanks for posting.:thumb:
GDZHHR 05-03-2007, 02:47 AM Pretty sweet Mike!
jerrbear 05-03-2007, 07:30 AM Looks awesome bud:thumb:
HillsdaleHHR 05-03-2007, 07:52 AM Cool :thumb: but 2 things: Don't those things get horrible gas mileage and can you fit a surfboard on it?
karen1953 05-03-2007, 08:02 AM Nice Jeep, have Great Days at the beach and if you ever want a 12' bd for the top just let me know I have 12', 8' and a 6' in TX.
Enjoy, reminds me of my 74 Bronco.
Firewatcher 05-03-2007, 08:21 AM XCELLENT ride Mike! :thumb: Makes me miss my '79 CJ-5 that much more.
dbarberaz 05-03-2007, 09:07 AM Mike
Jeep looks nice, should have lots of fun in it.
SoCalHHR 05-03-2007, 12:00 PM Thanks everyone! I've had Jeeps all my life - this is #5. Still have a few more things planned for it.
Cool :thumb: but 2 things: Don't those things get horrible gas mileage and can you fit a surfboard on it?
1) I live 4-minutes from the beach now. Gas mileage really isn't an issue.
2) For now I just roll up the rear window and toss my board in the back. I have a soft surf rack strapped around the spare tire that my board straps to. Due in any day is an overhead "lifeguard" style surf rack that bolts right to the roll cage.

In Summer, I will run a modified bikini top with the rack and can then carry 4-boards without problem.
Peace All!

That sounds so odd coming from a guy
ng8650 05-03-2007, 01:04 PM So you're going to be off roading instead riding low in SoCal...Nice rig. Let me know if you are going to do some local off-roading, My 89 4runner needs some dirt time.

Later!
Uhhhh, Jeep...
Aren't they built by the same company that builds PT Cruisers??   :D
Traitor!! :(
I say tar and feather this dude!! :thumb: :one: j/k Mike!!
hhrcrafty 05-03-2007, 07:33 PM Well, if Chevy airs another commercial showing guys ripping their clothes off to wash the HHR with their nekked bodies, I may just join you in the HHR Alumni Club. Prolly not with a Jeep, but that's not a bad choice.

:laughabov When my wife first saw that ad she told me, "You have to sell your HHR right now!". :rof: That ad doesn't even appeal to women. I do like my Gary Coleman car wash ad though.

Uhhmmm...you're driving a car designed by the same guy who designed PT Cruisers - did you know that? (Pot < Kettle = Black)
Yep, know that Mike.
But, as much as you and I disagree on tech stuff, I think we do agree that Bryan Nesbitt did much better the second time! :thumb: :one:
nfboy 05-05-2007, 11:22 AM Been there did 2 of those Jeeps. Loved them, hated the gas mileage and paint issues. Could not keep paint on the side mirror arms or the rear door hinges or bumpers. Went through windsheilds hand over fist. 4 wheel drive was great in the...snow.
Good luck Mike. You have had them before so you know their shortcomings.

And their benefits! :thumb: Thanks.
