I had this happen in my previous cars when I'd have the rear windows down but not the front ones - a loud wind noise inside the car - I can't think of what to call it.. It would stop if I opened a front window a crack.
Anyways - most of the time the HHR has this noise even with a front window down with the rear ones down.
Anyone else notice this?

Yes, popping the sunroof helps. If yours is so equipped.
Needless to say, don't do much of this at highway speeds.........

A lot of the newer cars do this. It is the way to get better MPG
the way it cut's the air over and around the car at speeds.

Rear vent windows....
Hmmm- I hate this noise. I'm the type to ride with the windows down rather than crank on the AC.
LOL ! I love your pic ! I have 3 dogs who LOVE the HHR - they stand up in the back with their heads out the windows. (I have 2 Malamutes & 1 GSP - seen in my pic :) The whole seats that fold flat and pretty much plastic cargo area were a huge selling point because of the dogs :_)
