View Full Version : Custom Paint Job
Rrailwriter 05-14-2007, 12:36 AM After seeing all the cute colors, Ken is ready to trade our Silver Streak in on an 08 so he can get a color. While celebrating Mother's Day with our daughter tonight, and with Ken sipping a Manhattan, I suggested we get it custom painted. We love trains, so how about just having the front end painted like a Genesis. For anyone not familiar, it's one style of engines Amtrak uses. See Amtrak picture below.
So..............anyone out there have any idea where we'd find someone who would know how to paint it?
Rrailwriter 05-14-2007, 09:45 AM Alright all you Arizona folks,
Does anyone know where you'd go to get a custom paint job on your HHR out here in the Phoenix area?
Got hubby considering having our Silver Streak painted like a Genesis engine. It actually only involves painting the front end, if you check out the Amtrak engine pictured below. Don't think it would be too involved. So far, it's a thought.
Thanks for any ideas.
See Amtrak picture below.
if you check out the Amtrak engine pictured below.

You'd have to come to Tucson, but I used Jay Moody for my panel paint job.

me 2! That HHR looks great! Did you have an introduction thread? If so, I must have missed it! Where did you get the custom front end done? I have seen that on a concept vehicle, but not on an actual ride. THAT LOOKS GREAT!!!:thumb:  ;)

mitzkity 05-14-2007, 05:42 PM What a perfectly PERFECT idea of custom paint job. Tho, I prefer the look of the art deco stainless steel locomotives like the Burlington Zephyr. Keep us posted on this concept, okay?

Thanks, we're getting excited about the whole idea. Have spent a good part of the evening checking out Amtrak engines and their different paint jobs.
Agree with you on the Burlington Zephyr.
