View Full Version : Wood Dash Kit
Memphis_HHR 05-22-2007, 07:21 PM Hi all. I am a newbie with my 2007 HHR and so far, I love it. Although I have had it about a week or so, I've starting doing things to it. I put the window visors on and got the front windows tinted to match the others. I am looking at installing a wooddash kit but I have a question. The kit shows to have a piece to go around the shifter BUT, how is the knob removed to get the piece over the shaft? It is an automatic. I am thinking about Japanese Cherry or Rosewood yet the Cherry would look great with the Sport Red paint. Any ideas or input?
Robert
karen1953 05-22-2007, 07:31 PM You do not need to remove it. There is enough room for it to go on over the shifter.
Welcome and enjoy.
g.chinn2 05-22-2007, 07:33 PM I Have It On Mine, You Don't Have To Do Anything With The Knob,it Fits Right Over The Area With No Promblem.
Memphis_HHR 05-22-2007, 07:37 PM Any pictures with your kit installed? Which kit did you use? Is one better than another? I've seen several vendors with prices ranging from $110 and up depending on how many pieces are used. I'm 53 years old and to me, I feel like a kid with a new toy to play with. Thanks for your patience.
Robert

courthousedeb 05-22-2007, 10:16 PM Hey MemphisHHR...got your PM and have answered it...but also thought I would post info here as well.
I got my dash kit from edashkit.com and got the 55 piece set. Since I don't have an automatic or a sunroof, there are a couple pieces I didn't use, so I have no info on the shifter piece. It does sound like the others have answered that question for you.
I am really pleased with the quality of their product and the ease of installation. You just have to take your time and pre-form and bend the pieces that go around the curved areas before removing the backing. There are more pieces than what I am showing, but this gives you an idea of what to expect. Below are some of the pictures I took of my dash kit after it was installed. It took me about 3 hours to do, but I did alot of preforming and test fitting.
I get a ton of compliments on it and many people think it came that way with the car.
Door strip, door cup surround, speaker trim and a small piece to the left of the door lock.
