Made the "annual pilgrimage" to the Indianapolis Brickyard on Thursday. Corvette is of course the pace car again and Chevrolet had a huge exhibit of their products, including one each of the Corvettes that have served as pace cars. Very impressive.

Included was one, lone HHR-LT in yes, Sunburst Orange (yea), but without roof rack or running boards. :( :

I used to go to them in growing up.... will have to content myself with watching it on TV - I hear there's a very strong chance of rain though, so it could be a long one. HHRs were SWEET!!! VERY EXCELLENT first 2, the white and the funny gold - IMO. So heavily modified though! Money money money!!!

Had a great time. This is an annual trip for myself and one of my close friends.

The Corvette pace car display was unbelievable, one each for the years that the Corvette has been the pace car.

I'm a Corvette pace car guy, so this was thrilling for me. Have some great pix, but not sure that the HHR forum is the right place to post them.

Great weather...and no crowds, had turn three including the brim (and the washrooms) to ourselves. Actually it was eerie...the washrooms were all groomed, including bars of soap and no one there! Just silence.

Have been corresponding with Ed Hinton, the Chicago Tribune motorsport correspondent and it looks like maybe we'll see some showers...hope not.
