Hey all, I am going up Thursday early and working with the hotel staff doing set-up and getting stuff under control...It looks like we are at about a dozen folks already with rooms reserved at the HJ...and as the time draws closer we will pick it up...I am working with a possible dealer to come up with HHR goodies for all to check out and purchase, thias should get more solid in the next week or two...We are still getting door prizes and goodie bag submssions and my wife is going out this week to chase local sponsors and try to get some more trophy sponsors... I will be posting more every day, pushing the interest on the run, getting as much information out as possible...Thank you all for your interest and for any help that you can give bringing in friends and new folks...Pat

Seriously there is something for everyone and it can be done reasonably priced too...the hotel rooms are discounted to $91.00 a night and we get waterpark tickets too !!! Yeehaa Toms and Scaleguy tradin' paint baby...it's like Nascar !!! Toms we gotta' agree...no deers during the run !!!

Unfortunately this year just doesn't look like an option in regards to my work schedule. However, that does mean that I can start putting spare pennies off to the side and saving up for NEXT year.

One thing to understand about The Dells is that all the people that work there are from Scandanavia or some place like that. They are very nice though sometimes hard to understand :thumb: :thumb:

It's okay Z, I won't win the club long distance trophy either because I am only going 248 miles, but I could come home empty handed and not be too upset, as long as I get the hang out with friends... Don't misunderstand, I do want to be competitive and I will be more happy if I can win a trophy at our run, but there will be some pretty stiff competition...it should be an excellent show...I talked to the police in the Dells and they are cool with us being in for the weekend, all permits and notifications have been made. I have left a message with the state park about a shelter for our cookout and should know by Tuesday and will pass that info along as soon as I know...

Z my brother, there is nothing more fun than putting this together knowing that I get to hang with my friends, see more great HHRs and enjoying the Dells...Hey lordairgtar, as Hills said, call the HJ Antiqua Bay Resort and tell them that you are with the Mid-American HHR group and you will get a $91.00 a night rate with free tickets to Riverview World waterpark for everyone registered, we also have discounts to many Dells attractions, a couple of cruises set and we are going to have fun !!!

HMMMM $91 a night? I can camp at Fishermans Luck for cheap, plus my old cabin is near the Dells and I may ask the current owners if I can borrow it for a weekend. Portage is only 16 miles away from the Dells and rooms there are about $50 a night. You can innertube the Wisconsin River from the Dells to Portage with a stop at Fishermans Luck for a cold one or two and a pound chuck steak for about seven bucks.

lordair, sounds like you will be able to make it very affordable !!! A definite benefit from being closer, there are some great camping deals available, but we opted for a hotel for the comfort and to have access to there parking lot for the Show and Shine, but tubing could definitely be something that interest people including me...we should discuss this a bit more...

What day exactly is the show and shine? I might have conflicting scheduling and I would try and make a day trip if the day is right. Seems I have to hit one of our local shows as artist in residence on Saturday. Gotta pay for my HHR somehow. :nuts:
